Think he changed agency not that long back and ever since then folk have been properly in his ear. Best keeper weve ever had in my lifetime so will be sad to see him go, but trust the club to 1) have a plan and 2) replace well

If he's asked to leave, the positive to that is that we're not doing it for PSR reasons.

It may also stop us from having to sell someone else for PSR reasons.

Get champions league you might persuade him to stay another season.

I think its quite plausible that he'd ask to leave. He wants to win trophies, we can't guarantee that, and if he stays with us another season or so he could be past the point where he can still get a move to a club that almost guarantees a trophy.

People can change their minds and all that, and we're all adults who'll get over it, but if this is true (and who knows whether it is), it's a tough one. One of the reasons I love him so much was because (I think) after the World Cup win, when he was at the crest of his wave, he gave an interview saying (I'm massively paraphrasing) that it's easy to go to a club that always wins big trophies and win big trophies, but it would really mean something to do it at Villa.

Moving now wouldn't necessarily invalidate any of the above, and he's given us another couple of years, but it'll be such a shame to lose him. That said, if he wants to go, he can use the big door marked 'off you fuck then'.

Saw on Twitter that he's a Mendes client now.

I seem to remember him saying something like that too. As you say, people change their minds, circumstances change, or indeed it may not be the case at all. If it is, hopefully it has the Harry Kane effect and he finally wins one, and we win one a few days later.

Yep. Agents don't make much money if their clients don't move around a lot.

Vidagany’s teenage son is in the same year as my lad at school. He’s told my lad this week that Emi has asked to leave.
Question is whether a teenager is anymore reliable than footballer insider.

From what ive been told this is accurate. He is listening to offers directly at the moment but no club has directly approached us (yet)

Then he can feck off with his blartin'. You want to go, fair enough, that's life.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be looking to move on in his career but still have fond feelings for those he’s leaving. I certainly had that over the course of my working life (obviously not implying I had thousands of adoring fans).

I'm not sure that is true is it?  I'd have thought agents get a cut of contract renegotiations, as well as transfers.

I don't care who they are. Once they ask to leave us after we have made them incredibly wealthy (and in his case rescued him from Arsenal's reserves) they become twats.

With transfers, they get both wages changes AND transfer fees, plus the bonus of probably more sponsorship deals cuts if at a world famous club. (Not that we aren't, but Barca gets massive international coverage just for being Barca).

There’s not many clubs where you can guarantee trophies

I'm worried we won't be able to fend off The New Saints.
