If he goes to A Madrid or ManU he can get to fuck and I hope his career nosedives into oblivion.

Why A Madrid?

Assuming the money works out he'd go there with my blessing. Another mad club where he can be a genuine hero, not some soulless corporate default winner where anything short of a treble gets the manager the sack. Basically, go to any club which doesn't pollute Youtube with yappy twentysomething influencer haircuts who think football began in about 2010 and can't stop babbling about goats and crypto, and whose entire personality seems to be some bioluminescent energy drink sponsor.

I can confirm, I find myself fully in alignment with Monty.

I'll guess it's because their fans were utter ****** when we played them in the UEFA cup in '98.

I don't see what that's got to do with Emi.

Great post. For some reason it just makes me think about Arsenal straight away.

Vidagany’s teenage son is in the same year as my lad at school. He’s told my lad this week that Emi has asked to leave.
Question is whether a teenager is anymore reliable than footballer insider.

I love Martinez, he's worth more than just what he does on the pitch for us, but Rashford is on another level to what we are used to - that's why I said "I wouldn't have a massive problem with it" rather than "yeah, let's get all over that".
Had a similar impression of Rashford at Parc des Princes. Despite our timid overall performance, he stood out as a thoroughbred, even when just warming up.

Yep agreed he has another gear. You sometimes have players with real elite pace or real elite skill, it’s pretty uncommon to have both. He absolutely does, as he showed against PSG.

Not in any way challenging the assessment, fascinating what aura players can carry. Which brings to mind our goalkeeper. He’s got that feel, been that stubborn figurehead believer that has helped us attract/get us to where we are.

I don’t want to lose Emi, but end of this season I can contemplate it, end of last absolutely no way.
It’s probably unfairly influenced by not having his best season (Cutlers comments are informing, # games experience, everyone has a blip /doesn’t maintain perfection) but there is a bigger picture of when to move on your greatest assets for the greater financial/rebuilding/refreshing good.

We are in an unusual place of having proved we can do good business and replace /upgrade, talent spot and nurture

But please not elsewhere in this league, love him too much to have to see him cheat on us!

Probably the greatest outcome of Man U being out of Europe is being less likely to afford a GK upgrade.

And the one that we could have provided for them is now far less likely to be interested in being that upgrade.

From what ive been told this is accurate. He is listening to offers directly at the moment but no club has directly approached us (yet)

I think its quite plausible that he'd ask to leave. He wants to win trophies, we can't guarantee that, and if he stays with us another season or so he could be past the point where he can still get a move to a club that almost guarantees a trophy.
