I would be prepared to let him go off it is for PSR and that would be the only casualty, but he would be missed

Personally I don’t think there much to it - as in he’s probably be perfectly ok with staying or leaving - but we have to sell so he’s leaving.

It’s stupid rules - as basically we have to sell to met PSR, and then we need to replace with quality - which means we’re back up against PSR again.  It’s like a giant payday loan scheme

Sorry you’re just talking nonsense - “accept first offer that comes along” I struggle to see how any of the sales we’ve made haven’t made sense - I didn’t want to lose Doug, but he wanted to go. Duran was always agitating and we got a brilliant price.

Luiz may have (though it appears he regrets it now) but Duran would have stayed if he'd been used properly.  Sell Martinez and should his replacement not work, Emery and his staff will rightly face the brunt of fans anger.  Blame PSR all you want, but constant talk of selling all of our players and then selling below market value is a completely short-sighted policy.
Unless you can convince the FA to ditch the financial restrictions of course

If he goes and Inter win the Champions League I'd see if Yann Sommer wants to round off his career with a couple of years in the Premier League.

If Emi is on his way then I'll be sad because he would be a huge act to follow.

That said, I trust Unai, Monchi et al. to do the right thing, including not being swayed by sentiment when big decisions need to be made for the benefit, and hopefully betterment, of the club.

I think we were all gutted when Jack Grealish was sold, but his sale improved us because the funds were used sensibly. This time we would be selling a World Cup winner to help us improve. Selling a World Cup winner - just think of that.

All that said, I'm still hoping the emotion last night was in fact his hay fever medication letting him down.

Kepa may be good but I remember what he did in the cup final for Chelsea by refusing to go off. That really puts me off him. Potential troublemaker.

Here follows my uneducated hunch:

I reckon the list of players that Unai considers indispensible / unsellable at the moment is actually pretty small. It's probably Rogers, Tielemans and Kamara. Onana, Maatsen, McGinn and Pau are probably there, but slightly different in that I don't think that anyone would offer us the money for any of them that would make it worth our while (whereas they definitely would with the first three).

My hunch - Emery has seen enough of Rashford that he now falls into that first category and if we don't finish fifth or above, he's said to the board "do what is needed to make the Rashford money work". And paying a new keeper £100k per week rather than paying Emi £200k per week is one of those measures that we're considering.

On the likes of Emi, Watkins, Konsa, Ramsey, Digne - I think they've been told that while we don't want to lose them and we're not *looking* to sell them, if they did have interest in earning a million pounds per hour in the desert, or going to a "bigger" team then we wouldn't reject the idea out of hand. So if they did want to explore those avenues, then we're okay with it.

Didn’t someone on here say recently that they had heard there is going to be a big clear out this summer and Emery only wants Emery style players?

100% Duran would have stayed had he not been in an out of the team.  Im sure he will be back in the PL in the next couple of years.  He's pretty much the only reason we had such a good start to the season and got through to the knock out stage of the Champions League.

Duran who did the hammer sign on a insta video when he was linked to them the summer before?

And there was me thinking it was going to be the deadwood.

I really don’t want to lose Emi for all the reasons given above by other posters, but if he did go, from what I have seen today Henderson of Crystal Palace is both feisty and talented!

With Emi it isn't just about him keeping the ball out it's his all round footballing ability. I have never been so confident in a Villa keeper with ball at his feet. We would have to replace that as well if he left.

I’m always sceptical on that kind of thing, especially as he’s already done 2.5 yrs here.

But plus side would I suspect Tim’s head might explode.
