Selling Emi would be bonkers IMO.

I can’t see us selling Tielemans unless we get a ridiculous offer.

Emi I can see a deal that suits everyone to Saudi but I’d be gutted to lose him. But Saudi is probably the least worst scenario.

The generational wealth of the money they have on offer might’ve meant he’d have asked to leave anyway but PSR really is corrupt.

Madness to even consider selling him without even a having a good enough number 2 keeper on the books.  We got caught out a year ago by selling Luiz and replacing him Onana who's been woeful for much of the season.

Agree on Martinez, I'd hope for a humongous transfer fee if indeed he is off, that'd be the only way we should ever sell him through gritted teeth at the alter of PSR, but Tielemans was Luiz's replacement, and he's done pretty well this year.

Yes, but reading between the lines,  we are going to cash in in Tielemans as well, and probably way below his true value like with Luiz.

Sell Martinez, and that bumps us about 5 places down the table next season.

Is there any bit of this "Villa" thing that you actually get any enjoyment from?

I can’t be the only one sick of our sporting director treating our best players like rubbish and then replacing them with mediocrity.  Luiz outstanding last season, we cash in.  Duran brilliant first half of this season,  we cash in.  Now Martinez and the pound signs are in their eyes.  It's becoming quite spiteful.

If we needed a new keeper, the kid at Palace would be my choice.

Luiz wouldn't sign a new contract and wanted to go. Duran clearly wanted to go. We have no idea on Emi yet.

Who did we treat like rubbish? Or in the case of the first 2 did they treat us like rubbish?

It's difficult to work out what we need from the various financial reports, but I'd be very surprised if we're selling both, certainly not for anything below a market value were happy with. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy if either go, but I think the management and ownership teams have plenty of credit in the bank for us to trust that, whatever happens, well keep moving in the right direction.

The cashing in is fuck all to do with the sporting director and all to do with trying to be PSR compliant, both in the league AND in Europe.

Would you have wanted Watkins cashed in on instead of Duran, we needed to do one of them?

I don’t think we had too much day over the deal to sell him. We probably haven’t got much say this summer either than to try and rebalance the books yet again.

Onana, woeful? The only thing woeful is the tone of your comments all the time.

I dont buy any of that.  Hes 32 years old.  He could easily still be our number 1 for another 3 -4 years and then fuck off for a final pay day for 4 years.

Well get 40m and have at least 2 attempts at replacing him that will cost us at least 60m.  Its bollocks.  No one will continue to watch football if they drain any kind of emtional connection with players out of it.

We sold Luiz for "50m" - most in made up money.  It really needs to be changed, as we got 20m cash plus two players as likely to play for the Villa as I am, and then spent 55m on a replacement - and apparently that make us complient.  All while Man United / Man City, Arsenal, Spurs have debts of 2bn

I think you probably are. Luiz clearly fancying a move - he went. Duran totally unreliable - tidy profit. Martinez idle press speculation - let's all wet ourselves.

Whilst I may well be approaching the wetting myself stage - mainly due to drink - we have an amazing management team in place and I cant believe were cashing in an any key player for any other reason that the FFP regulations

No way any sporting director in the world say - lets cash in on a world class player - for less than his value to us - and see what we can do.

SkySports Chelsea game round up just focused on Emi looking tearful as he waved and left the pitch at VP tonight.
