World’s no 1. Never in a million years.
📲 Emi Martínez on Instagram:

“I was not good enough today. I will train harder for the next game.” 😥

Tracked down Emi's mural (they just call him "Dibu" here) in Buenos Aires yesterday. Have my Villa '81 retro shirt with me but it was too hot to wear it.

Nice find, didn't realise you were heading to Bs. As. as well. Hope you made it to Iguaçu Falls in the intervening days, and managed to catch a game before the league ended. It's a funny city. Great food and wine, Porteños aren't always the friendliest, can be sketchier than Rio, but on the whole I've really enjoyed my trips there.

Missed this but yeah, got to see both sides of the falls. Storm Darragh or his Latin American cousin did make it all a bit windswept, mind.

Is there any credibility in the rumoured falling-out between UE and Emi?

If he doesn't start against Cardiff then we'll know it's true. :(

Not really, I’m sure they’ll kiss and make up. Maybe he’ll get the basics right in the next match!

I read some click-bait article on my phone yesterday - it might have been the B'ham mail, can't remember, but the way they'd headlined it suggested Emery was p*ssed off with Martinez for the lack of lean sheets, where as the reality was he was saying Martinez was p*ssed off because we weren't keeping clean sheets. (and I think it was cobbled together before the Palace game) I wonder if that is what he VillaTim saw and concluded a bust up, just from the headline.

This has been done to death you know when Emery bombed him out at Arsenal all those years ago therefore emi wasn’t happy with his appointment.  How did that work out?!   I don’t think there’s anyone more disappointed with the lack of clean sheets than Martinez.  He’s on his way down though in my view.

A goalkeeper hates letting in goals. Hardly a shock is it?

Having been voted best in the world twice, I'm not sure he could go in any other direction.

Inclined to agree. If Chelsea finish in CL spot and we don't, would offer him to them for Kepa plus £££

Emi on the way down?  Mind you - he didnt do well on the the final 3 Palace goals.

He's the best goalkeeper in the world - why would we sell him unless we absolutely had to.
