The save to tip the ball over the bar was unbelievable, and when you watch in slow-mo, he got a lot of his hand to that ball. It was an inch-perfect effort, just sneaking in, but I get the feeling that if the bar was a foot higher, and the ball still just sneaking in, he still would've reached it.

He's the opposite of most modern keepers in that, instead of making the simple look spectacular, he makes the spectacular look simple.

Back to his best last night.  My goodness me, he's a great goalie.

So far this season I felt Emi wasn't quite at his best. There's been a few goals where I felt he could have done better.

But last night? Wow. Unreal performance.

when I first read that, i read it as "emi is our top 3 best ever keepers". i think you could make an argument (however farcical) that he's good enough to be the top 1, 2 and 3rd placed! :P

I've been critical of him in recent weeks for failing to make saves that I think he should have made....
He proved why he's one of the best in the world last night. Always turns up for the big games, unlike that slack-jawed cockney twat on the opposition team.

He IS the best keeper to ever grace the space between our sticks. Take a bow Emi son.

That is all.
And, as he said on his post match interview, he loves it here.

My all time favourite villa goalkeepers in no particular order: Pink, Rimmer, Bosnich. All were fantastic but Emi Martinez is on another level. He's spectacularly good.

I watched the Tomorrow's Headlines section on SSN last night and they had two journo's on video link, I can't recall their names, one was from the Heil and the other from the Times, both were enthusing about the Villa and Uni but for the first time; one of them called Emi 'the number one goalkeeper in the world'.  They are slowly coming around to realising what we have known for a very long time.

He kissed the badge at full time.

He can't ever leave now.

Is that before or after her music career?
