Also as Peter McParland can testify, a keeper could be "shoulder" charged if they had the ball in their hands.

You can't really compare, up until the late 70s keepers often didn't wear gloves of any kind, now they wear massive gloves. Back then it was some spit and dirt to help. Balls were very different, and so on.
Big one being the change in the back pass rule.

Schmeichel in his prime (not for us) v Emi would be a close one, if Emi keeps his level for another 3-4 years maybe he’d pip it in the neutrals eyes

Hopefully nothing serious and he'll be back for Brighton.

Indeed, absolutely critical he’s back asap.

Was he injured or was he just getting Olson some game time in prep for Thursday?

He was having some treatment so it’s either a precautionary measure or an injury.

Hamstring is what they mentioned on the TnT commentary last night.

Seems to be an injury, he was getting treatment  (some massage to his thigh) when the play was stopped due to Tielemans injury.

His right thigh was getting treatment and he was moving gingerly for a bit afterwards.

It looked like he had something applied to the side of his leg in a clip shortly after, but I'm. Not sure it was on the same spot.

Yeah was quite surprising. I assumed the physio was coming for Konsa who'd gone down not long before, but he rubbed something on the back/side of Emi's leg. He's got a full week ahead of Brighton so hopefully he will be back.

I get the impression we are also getting key players subbed off even as a precaution to avoid longer term consequences. Ollie being taken off might have avoided missing more than one game. Emi this weekend who can’t play anyway vs Olympiakos may as well get treatment for a bit longer so he’s better for Brighton. I don’t think Emery wants to take more chances than he needs to given we are down to the bare bones now.

No mention of Sam Hardy in the best ever stakes. Smh. Considered the best of all time for a good few years after he finished playing.

Definitely. Emery's been taking players off at pretty much the first sense of there being a problem in the hope that it reduces any layoff, or at least, doesn't extend them.
