Not an area you want to be in once it gets dark!

He is without a doubt the single best goalkeeper that Villa have had in my lifetime.

Absolutely superb.

He is the best goalkeeper in the world. But to describe him as just 'a goalkeeper' is to undersell him. He's way more than that for us.

Hopefully we have him with us for a good few more years - and I think he goes down as a club legend - one of the best players to play for our great club.

That window - when we signed him and Ollie - that wasnt half bad.

If we do achieve Champions League, there's no way he's going anywhere else. He'll want to stay and our finances will be much better so the need to possibly sell a star asset will hopefully be reduced.

Loved his celebrations with the Villa fans today. I bet the Tarquins loved that, if there were any left in the stadium to witness it.

He embodies this team. He's its soul, its metonym, its symbol. I fucking love this guy.

Interesting chat between Watkins and Ian Wright after the match. They said that having a great goalkeeper in the team means that they have to work really hard in training to score which raises their level. Ollie said he also asks Emi what he does in a particular situation with a striker and how might he (Ollie) overcome that.

I still can't quite believe he plays for us.

I've always stated that of if you are a shit team, training just becomes a shit feedback loop. After all if a shit attack can beat a shit defence in training, they won't actually learn how to do it against a good defence, and the same if the defence comes out on top in training. We definitely had that for several seasons before we dropped.

Best in the world, no doubt in my mind. There have been world class keepers and then there have been keepers who are next level and who completely dominate teammates and opposition. Martinez, Schmeichel, Buffon and Khan are the absolute elites, the rest can form an orderly queue behind them. Incredible support for him yesterday as well.
