You've got to admit, his existence was worthwhile for that moment he was hit with the ball while on commentary at VP.

Edit: not sure what's happened to the quoting there.

Given the magnitude of the moment, one of the best saves I've ever seen.

Completely agree Rory. And didn’t every single Villa fan know, after that save when it went to penalties, there was only ever going to be one winner. Argentina were never losing that shootout with Emi in goals. Simply the greatest and if we ever going to win stuff it will be him in goals.

Also agree. The enormity of the game , and that a goal there wins France the World Cup, it’s the greatest save ever.

Number 46 in the best male players list, according to the Grauniad.

Yeah not sure how seriously to take that list given some of the names in there...

James Maddison is 77, or as he refers to it, 19, 18, Double Top.

So, are they saying that he would not make a World XI currently? - puts the whole list into doubt.
And, if Emi is 46 will Dougie make the list at all? - with Ratfacenandez and Grealish in the 40's how can Doug not be in on current form?

Courtois and Alisson above him in the list ... really???!!
Dougie does not make the top 100 at all, yet Rice, Oodegaard and Saka are in the top 22!
Go - as our American colonial friends would say - figure.

I suspect the whole thing has been in progress for a while, and Villa and the players have only been good for a week or so, remember.
