Quick question,
My mate runs a charity for Glioblastoma (brain cancer) and has an event coming up.
He has managed to get a signed top by our worlds number one.
They’re going to auction it off, but have no idea of what they should be looking at.
I said as he’s a World Cup winner and considered the best in the world it could be worth a fair amount to the right person.
My question is: Does any have any idea of what it could go for?
Or, if you were bidding what would be your limit?

I'm not an expert, but you might do better for the charity if you sell raffle tickets - e.g., 50 tickets at a tenner nets £500 (obviously).

I imagine more people might be happy to chip in a few quid for charity with the chance of winning something, than spending hundreds to be certain to secure an item. Good luck whatever.

The rumours are ramping up about him wanting to leave in the summer.  It's all over Twitter.

I don't see any reason why we would contemplate selling him this window and tbh with the likely progress we will make in the summer I'm not convinced he would push to go.

Lot's of people saying cash in and get the next big thing.  People quickly forget how hard it is to get a great keeper.  We've spent millions on three international keepers who were all shite.  Arsenal are making do with Ramsdale, Chelsea have spent over £100m and still aren't happy, Spurs have kept a past it Lloris for two years too long.  You can't just find a great replacement.  It doesn't work like that with keepers.

All this talk is because of one Argentinian guy who probably thinks Martinez should be playing for a 'better/bigger' club. Then all the transfer sites jumped on it, which the newspapers picked up on. Just shows how the transfer media work.

There's only one rumour, one which is at odds with almost every word uttered by the man himself since he lifted the World Cup. But as is often the case these days it's being repeated and amplified by just about anybody with thumbs.

I’m already getting flashbacks to the Grealish saga of two years ago with everyone convincing themselves he’s going nowhere.

Personally I think it all boils down to this;

If there’s no buyout clause in his contract, he’s staying.

If there is one, he’s probably off.

Sadly I think I agree with that. Seen some lowball numbers mooted in the press, but I do think if there is a clause it will quite a high number.

I don't think the club see him as any better a goalkeeper due to the World Cup win. He was pretty at much as high as expectations can get for the people that matter at the time he signed his last deal.

But you'd think that spending 80% of that on a goalkeeper probably shouldn't be their top priority.

Agreed. Also it wasn’t like Emi was in the verge of leaving like Grealish was either. We had to give Grealish what he wanted or he was off.
