The problem is, how do you get a competent back up keeper to the worlds best. Knowing that you will rarely play (except for injury cover) and your career will be over.

It won’t be hard to find somebody better than Olsen though.

The other side of the coin is that there may be young keepers who would love to join Villa and train everyday for two seasons with the worlds best keeper.

With Olsen, I've seen him over the years a bit and he's never been this terrible before that I can recall. I think he's out of his depth and it's got to him psychologically.

Hutton said something in his interview about how you can't underestimate confidence as a factor, how powerful it is. With Olsen, we're seeing a perfectly OK career keeper, an international, nothing spectacular but a decent pro, basically reduced to a big jellied eel by lack of confidence.

Do you think maybe it's the change in focus with keepers needing to be actual footballers now? Some of the older generation struggling with it, De Gea is an absolute liability as well.

I reckon that’s it, he’s a keeper who likes to stay in his box. He hasn’t got the footballers brain to read the game and sweep up, or to come out and help defend high, let alone be expected to play football with his feet. He’s got to be the worse possible keeper for us with the style we play.

We need a solid pair of hands as no.2 Tom Heaton was absolutely fantastic option , shame he left.

And then a decent no.3

Maybe we should only sign goalkeepers.

We're in the situation Spurs had with finding a decent backup for Kane, tough to convince anyone to sign knowing you're not getting a game unless they're injured and not really in position to throw silly money at someone because you can.

Apart from the £70m on Richarlison?

Thought they signed him to be Son on the other side, supporting Kane?

Whatever the plan was it's been a roaring success.

It’s remiss of the club for Olsen to still be our no 2 goalkeeper after the last window
He costs us in most games he plays it’s an absolutely ridiculous situation

It’s a key position, probably the most important position on the pitch and we’ve got that numpty wobbling about

I am told Heaton left because the club did not let his family buy season tickets without joining the queue.

When Forest are relegated Navas will be free,  so we should give him 12 months contract as back up for Emi.

Good shout, even if it's on loan for a year from PSG.

The American fella at Boro, Zack Steffan on loan from Man City has impressed me this season.
