I really hope Super John does not have a case of "bender bollocks".  Testicular torsion is no laughing matter.

As for FV, I think he should stop digging the hole any deeper.

The writer Hubert Selby Jr prefaces his masterpiece "The Demon" with the words:

A man obsessed is a man possessed
By a Demon

For me, he can keep on digging till he gets to Australia!!

Move on! Go listen to Martinez interview on the BT Mike Calvin podcast.
Touching the Sky.
That's where the discussion is now.

The man is absolutely brilliant. That is no doubt. Best hearing ever.

Great to hear. That’s how true champions think. I hope he stays and finishes his career with us.

I've considered all things and now firmly hope that too. I'm concerned about any rift with the coaches and transfer of him too good to turn down to move on in summer however he can do things here given the direction Villa, are moving under Emery.
Next year, make him the captain permanently. And improve the options in the team for him.

He has a great character, which is a great asset, and his talent and advancement have been astounding. On the pitch and in football he's passionate. Off the field, he is obviously a guy of integrity. This aligns with my ideals.
I overheard Matty Cash claim that Martínez was exactly the same during practise games and penalty shootouts. Emi will stop at nothing to achieve victory.

Great interview. I believe he wants to do stuff at villa, we’ll see.

There really needs to be a fanfare for this guy before the next game - I hope the Club have something decent in mind.

He's won the Wrold Cup, not many get to say that. Now he has a bigger challenge, winning with us. He can be a legend, he can be our best ever keeper, he can win trophies.

I love him and what he stands for.

I don't think Emery would want the distraction which is fair enough. A song may do the trick..

'The World's Number one, the World's Number one, Emi Martinez the World's Number one'.

Catchy, huh?

He's had all the attributes to lead. I fully expected him to be captain in the summer.
I don’t know why Gerrrad never choose Martínez as captain.
I suspect the disruption of the world cup was a part factor.
