Damiano and Amanda are pleased, and will be dining on Findus Crispy Pancakes and arctic roll, followed by some heavy petting on RyanAir flight R36985. They're due back in Rednal at 2am.

No word yet if he used the trophy as an extension of his penis as he left the stage

I guess he had to be pretty special to keep Olsen out of our team!

Well deserved - he has clearly worked very very hard and is very driven.

Bit shout out for BigCutts too!

Whatever happens this can only be a good thing for Villa and for him

Made a nice speech in Spanish.

Referenced his wife standing by his side and family, his Argentina team mates, the Villa, and the difficulties that Argentina is facing economically.

Said: People asked who were my idols, what goalkeeper keeper did you dream of when you were a child.

When I was growing up I remember my Mom cleaning buildings 8 hours a day, and my father working so hard.

They are my idols. Thank you.

There should be more love for this achievement. It’s a fantastic moment and one we should be proud of.

Agreed. When was the last time we could say we had the best in the world playing for us? McGrath, maybe. I can't think of any others.

I think McGrath got a vote for the best player award in 1993 or 1994 when Baggio won it. This is actually having one of our own players winning it. We should be delighted. He achieved this since he became a Villa player. It may never be repeated again.

To be far - this is truly remarkable - to have the best goalkeeper in the world in our team is an amazing thing to have.

Well done to him, the club and everyone involved in this.  This can only be a really good thing for everyone involved!

And there is a very good chance he might not have achieved this if he hadnt become a Villa player.

Just what I was thinking. McGrath was the best player in his position in the world alongside Baresi at the time. This is the first time we've had it made 'official' we have the best player in his position.
