I like it. Everyone seemingly on form today on all the threads! Can feel the love! And the elements of humour but not in a vicious manner. Well played

If he wants to go and anyone else for that matter I’ll thank him and wish him well but we’ll move on. We won’t get a replacement as good as him but I’d like to think another area of the team will be vastly improved instead.

It didn't work out that way when we sold Grealish.

Correct.

Also, he will go, BTW. When he wanted to stay he came our and said that, was a couple years ago I think. These latest comments say he will look to move at the end of the season.

Since Emery came in, I've had a sneaking suspicion that he will go.
Since Martinez won the World Cup, I've also had a sneaking suspicion he will want Champions league football level and that's now been confirmed.
Put all those issues together and there's only one outcome.

Be prepared if Olsen returns to goalkeeping between now and the end of the season. Maybe he even plays against Manchester City today, if so it will only serve to confirm there's a rift that has been somewhat rumoured and that Martinez is already thinking elsewhere as he's clearly off for champions league football.

Are you Lee Hendrie?

All the "like I say", "As I said", "I told you so", sound very Hendrie-ish...
Haha. Thats so true. He does.

That is nice. That said, can any of you point to where people have been "vicious"?

Yeah, that's a heavy scene man. Way harsh.

It's not the caravan that riled me, it's the revelation he's a Tory landowner.

When Hull based beat combo wrote their hit song "The Caravan of Love", they were surely kidding around.

I lived in Kansas for the best part of a decade, and you don't want to see a Trailer Park after a Tornado has ripped through it.

Warman is based out of his in Oswestry full time now he's retired.

Friend of mine spoke to Nick Owen, said he'd been down there to see him a couple of weeks ago, and it's not good. He's gone full 'native', started wearing animal horns and a fox tail. Bill Roache is inducting him into druidism.

THAT is caravans for you.

That's it, right there.

The road to perdition with no redemption in sight.

Warman was a thoroughly good cove, but he has succumbed to the calls of The Wild. Ken Barlow will have him dancing around a Maypole double quick time, and a Wicker Basket awaits the poor fellow.

Once again the persecution and hostility towards simple travelling folk rears it's head on this once proud forum

New Jersey based Isley-Jasper-Isley to be even more precise. They left Cincinnati many years earlier,.

There's a line in the article which I have pointed out which just reiterate what I've been suspecting. Telling.
And have also suggested Raya and Sanchez who are Spanish to come in.

Words in the news by ITK Tom Collomosse
"Aston Villa could listen to offers for World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez but would demand a high price to help fund a summer rebuild, with a decision on the goalkeeper's future resting with Unai Emery"

There are other first-teamers Emery may be willing to sell, like full-backs Lucas Digne or Matty Cash, but with little chance of making a significant profit. Martinez, on the other hand, was bought for about £16m from Arsenal in summer 2020 and is now worth substantially more.

Ultimately, the decision on Martinez’s future will fall to Emery, who has more power than any Villa manager since Martin O’Neill. Should the Spaniard believe there is a goalkeeper more suited to his style of play, it would open the door to a sale.

Because English is not his first language, Emery’s words are sometimes difficult to decode but it is all there if you look closely enough.
After the 4-2 defeat at Leicester, when Villa presented Leicester with their first goal as they tried to play from defence, Emery’s verdict was telling. ‘We have to be ambitious and play better but the process needs time. I want to continue building play from the goalkeeper. We have to learn – we can’t play long ball, long ball, long ball.

‘The most difficult step we have to make is to play well with the ball. That is more difficult than playing with a good attitude and being consistent defensively.’

Martinez is an outstanding shot-stopper, commands his box well and his strong personality is reassuring for defenders. Yet not even Martinez’s greatest fans would say he was at his best with the ball at his feet.
Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is outstanding in this aspect and will have a number of clubs chasing him this summer. Robert Sanchez of Brighton is in the same boat. If Villa could land either of those players for less than they sold Martinez, it might be a deal to suit everyone."

For all he's worth and all the noise I fully see Martinez and also Olsen leaving this summer.

This was in the Mail, the same paper yesterday saying we are under no pressure to sell him!
