I no longer believe in if a CL club comes knocking he’ll be off. That was before last Sunday not any more. Once you have won the WC as a professional footballer there is nothing, no pinnacle to achieve. Grealish was different. All Emi wants now is about 4/5 years of utter worship and adoration before he retires.

We shouldn't be looking at selling Martinez. We should be looking at signing Mbappe.
I like your style.

Speaking of pricks…Salt Bae. What a fucking penis
I don't blame him, these dickheads spend £700 on a steak at his restaurant and upload pictures of him sprinkling shit onto it and then upload the receipt onto 'the gram'. Hes a fucking genius as far as im concerned and he's lapping it up while he can.

Haha, you have to love some of our fans. Martinez becomes a World Cup winner and they think he's off or we'll be holding him against he's will. Marvellous.

Too much Christmas Sherry ??

Whether you agree or not it simply won't happen while the club & player are in their current positions

I like it when some of these whippersnappers don't realise who Dave is and think they can address him like a normal person.

It's not to be taken literally, what he's saying - and I hate to sound like I'm putting words into the mouth of our glorious leader - is that we should be thinking about buying better players than we're used to, not getting shot of the high profile winners we already have.

Martínez will no doubt move on one day. I'm sure of that.

What I don't believe is that:
A) The relationship between Emery and Martínez has irrecoverably broken down, as claimed by Fichajes yesterday.
B) Martínez has a difficult personality, as claimed by Fichajes yesterday. If he had then surely we'd have heard about it before now.
C) Emery wants Martínez gone as soon as possible, as claimed by Fichajes.
D) That Fichajes is a credible sports news site, especially with no quotes to back up the above.

This story has now been regurgitated in English by SPORTbible, for clicks, obviously.

I know! I always approach Legion first, explain myself and then after some consideration permission is granted however mostly I still have to make my point through several intermediaries. I know my place.

That and the fact we shouldn’t be such fucking pushovers as a fan base that every time one of our players makes it we are faster to sell them than the club is. Two things have changed. One we are not owned by Doug. Second we are not owned by the end of tenure broke Lerner. Yes we sold Jack under NSWE. Every player has a price and Martinez will no different so IF he is sold it would be for some obnoxious price. But I will put my money is NOT wanting to sell him and if we do very much as per our terms. The amount of shitting of pants since the WC final has been embarrassing on some fronts. We only had a couple of players at the tournament. If we get to where we want to be by 2026 we will have many more. To do that we need to keep Emi and buy players to ensure his success and happiness.

This. Cit£h had 16 played at the World Cup. Quite a few of which hardly get a kick in the premier league. We shouldn't be thinking about selling but about buying. We are wealthy. With a top manager (count the trophies). And ambition to match anyone. Time to start showing it.

I'm not sure how reliable this Spanish site is, but it suggests that Emery doesn't see eye to eye with Martínez and that there were some run ins even before the World Cup. If so, it would have been odd to have fallen out so quickly.

If this it to be believed, he wants to sell Emi and get in Bono.

Apparently not. When asked why he declined to pursue the transfer, Emery said that he still hadn't found what he was looking for
