And neither have ever won the Intertoto Cup or Zenith data systems challenge trophy. Neither has Messi for that matter and they'll never be complete until they have.

Emi should lay off Mbappe and perhaps remember he put three penalties past him and scored a hat trick in a World Cup final, whilst being only 23 years old.

I love him and the shit housing is usually great but a bit of reflection on his part rather than diving in might be a good idea.

He pissed off Fernandez and Manure.
He has pissed off Mbappe and PSG.

Hopefully he will do a few more top players and their clubs so they don't want to sign him.

I just hope he doesn’t come back and transmogrify into Alpay.

Or a psychopathic curry-man.

Half man, half mutton vindaloo.

I wonder how much of this is cultural? Brits tend to try and be magnanimous in victory so it's pretty wild to see someone living with their heart on their sleeve. Martinez just seems fearless to me. Aware of his own ability and strong psychologically. We are so bloody lucky to have him at Villa.

I think the Mbappe baiting is a little unsavoury but possibly understandable if he had goaded the Argentinians before hand?

What i hate is these so called pundits on Talk Shite keep banging on about the shithousing.

ITs quite simple - whatever he did it never put off the better players as they scored - it is the weak and inexperienced that fail and that is exactly what it is meant to do.

Mbappe is world class at the end of the day so they are always going to taregt him

The Mbappe stuff is all a bit of nonsense really, if he was big enough to comment on SA football before the tournament then he's big enough to 'take his bumps' when they give him some shit now.

Aside from that the shithousing, the fucking (literally) about with the trophy is just all part of who he is, better this than the media-coached voids of personality like Kane, Owen, etc.

While outfield players continue to dive, cheat, feign injury, wave imaginary red and yellow cards, refuse to retreat the required distance at free-kicks, attempt to put penalty takers off, run their studs through the penalty spot ahead of a kick, pull/push/grab shirts in the penalty area, then whatever Emi decides to do during game-time to gain an advantage is fine by me.

It was apparently ok for Mbappe to piss himself laughing when Kane missed the penalty but he’s suddenly too precious to have EMI take the piss out of him. Some people take all of this stuff far too seriously.

I may be wrong about this but I'm sure Martinez went over to console Mbappe after the penalties before
he went off celebrating.

Wow, the hair styles on both of them. He has the same technique for penalties now, but has to start from behind the line so he is not ahead of it when the ball is struck.

Yes and  this:

Lloris is a duplicitous as they come. Says he’s been trying to console Kane but that didn’t stop him  giving Kane the big fuck off when he missed the pen.

I just want to know when he's coming back. Any updates, surely he be available Boxing Day.

DM are reporting that Spurs want their man back ASAP, but Brighton don't want theirs back until New Year, which seems ridiculous.

He needs to return ASAP imo.

Martinez said he did the cock gesture with his Golden Glove because he was being booed by the French fans in the stadium, which is fair enough for me. Plus it had added I don't give a fuck where I am irreverence which suited the occasion.

The singing in the changing room should have stayed in the changing room but these things are generally filmed these days so we get to witness some of what goes on in there at times of great excitement.

Emi went over and had a word with Mbappe on the pitch and it all seemed very calm and in good sport. I still maintain that Macron should keep his tiny beak off the pitch but he will do anything to be in the limelight.

The Mbappe effigy on the bus in Buenos Aires was unnecessary but Martinez is lapping it up. It's a good job* we aren't likely to be drawn with PSG in the 'Champions' League because Mbappe might stick another three past him then do a humping gesture and his trademark hugging himself celebration in front of the Holte End.

*Obviously, I wish we were.

Finally, EMI does like to simulate penetration of his opponents to show domination, doesn't he? He did it to Man Yoo fans after Ratface put his penalty into the Irish Sea, and he has now done it to French fans in Qatar. It doesn't bother me as keepers are like chefs, nutters, the lot of 'em. Long may he air hump our opponents after we win games, points and, hopefully, trophies. Unless he fucks off to Man Yoo or Bayern Munich ;-)

Edit. It could easily have been a nightmare for him too: however shite France were for 80 minutes, they nearly won the World Cup with an incredible comeback, without the need for penalties. That amazing save, for which Emi is rightly lauded was the difference between him sitting dejected like Mbappe and being able to take the piss now. Fair play to him!

The outrage over the Mbappe doll seems excessive to me. Surely it was just thrown up by onto the bus by one of the fans and he's grabbed it for a laugh, a fucking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle got thrown up on there aswell ffs. I doubt he was looking around Doha Airport for a 442 magazine, some craft scissors and a childs doll.
