Since Friedel? He's easily our best keeper since Bosnich and well on the way to being our best ever.
He will have to become a hell of a keeper to better Rimmer.

IMO, Better than Bosnich, not as good as Rimmer

Linked with Bayern today too. Looks like we'll be dealing with rumours galore now.

Anyway, he's ours. No doubt there will be another contract review coming already.

Hopefully Wes’s Learjet is flying to Buenos Ares as we speak to be on standby as soon as Emi is ready.

There's no way Bayern are chucking £80m at a goalkeeper.

There'll be a Man Utd link soon, and probably a Spurs one.

Nobody else who could spend the money really needs him.

Agree.  He's just signed a long contract but I guess we can't prevent papers filling their pages with print and internet for clicks.

As always, it'll come down to the player. If he decides he absolutely wants Champions League football, he'll be gone.

Yep, if a player wants to leave he leaves. Harry Kane is looking great for Man City this season.

To whom? Someone needs to actually want to spend the necessary money on him.

Generally I think he likes Villa, we have been huge for his career development and with 4.5 years left on his conract you'd think we have nothing to worry about.

My slight concern is if he's unhappy that Cutts was sacked, that could be an excuse or catalyst for his agent to push for a move.  As for who would want him, I'd have thought possibly Spurs (Lloris is 36).  Man Utd might want competition for DeGea, but he's only 32 and there's no way Emi will go anywhere he's not clear first choice.  Outside the PL, there's not many who could afford him.

Hopefully it won't come to that, great teams need great keepers and if we truly want to go places we should be building around him.
