The only one I thought about that need a replacement are Newton Heath as De Gea is getting on a but.  Not sure why he would want to go to an upper mid table club though.

I can't see Man Utd spending a fortune on a keeper that's only 2 years younger than the very good keeper they already have. While 30 isn't old for a keeper, I'm not sure anyone would spend mega bucks on Emi.

What odds on Martinez gifting the match to France by scoring a comedy own goal?

I have more faith in the current owners. It's like with whats-his-name, as I understand it they were prepared to match wages if he wanted to stay, but if he wanted to go they were going to make sure the deal was the right one financially for the club or it wouldn't be happening. I'm sure it would be the same with any of our players.

Will he be the first Villa player to play in a World Cup final?

While employed by Villa, yes.

Robert Pires and Lovre Kalinić were both unused subs and Mana Iwabuchi played one minute of a World Cup Final, all before signing for Villa.

I reckon 'is he the first Villa player to play in a World Cup final' has real potential to be the next 'Why didn't Barry take the penalty'.

No chance, he doesn't do that.

I am guessing Emi will be the first Villa player to play in a World Cup Final?
