I knew they'd win as soon as it went to penalties.

The guy is a giant, a winner.

Poor for the first? Spectacular penos. Argie are an indisciplined rabble when things go against them.

Always fun to read the first couple of pages of a thread like this with the benefit of hindsight.

(Mostly positive and pleased we're throwing our money around, with a bit of thinking we should stick with Heaton, some panic that Brighton are going to come and get him ahead of us and just a frisson of "nah, we should sign Fraser Forster instead")

I actually don’t think he will go unless we want to sell him.  He loves it here.

Really well done Emi, Villa boy, something tells me the big money will come in for him now, keepers at the top of their game are rare these days.

He does. He also seems to really love playing in massive football matches. So we should probably start making sure we play in some of them sooner rather than later.

Yeah that’s the one, I think.

Went in there a fair bit in my first year at university when I was in halls in Edgbaston. There was a decent pub over the road, the Unspoilt by Progress.

Are there any Banks's pubs left inside Birmingham? My mate got proper excited when he discovered the Unspoilt was there. And a pint of mild in the bar of the Lifford Curve remains (well, it's not going to get beaten now!) the cheapest I've ever had in a pub. 54p.

Blimey, the Lifford Curve, that’s a blast from the past.
Opened around 85, Didn’t last long, though. Pretty sure it was closed by 2000
I lived just up the road from there in the late 80’s, but never really used it as I used to drink in the Grant.

Probably about 10 years after that. I had a drink in there every now and then and turned 18 in 2005.

Well in Emi.

Got to admit, I had some Tranmere nerves for the pennos. But by God,what a keeper.
