And yet time wastes and gets a yellow card.
He can't help himself with that.

How many is that now this season, seeing as he can’t help himself?

Thought so. Played every game hasn’t he?

Yep, he's only missed the bit of the Newcastle game when he was injured.

Forgive me if I don’t panic about a possible suspension. Does anyone know when the cut-off point is where five yellows no longer get you suspended?

Edit: 5 in the first 19 games will trigger a one game ban, so if Emi can just try and control himself and not get booked 4 times in the next 5 games, having racked up an unforgivable total of 1 in the last 14, he’ll be fine. Footy will be relieved.

19 games - 5 bookings = 1 game ban
32 games - 10 bookings = 2 game ban
End of season -15 bookings = 3 game ban
End of season - 20 bookings = referred to Regulatory Commission.

Running total:

J Ramsey 4
Ings, McGinn, Bailey 3
A Young, Konsa, Digne, Cash, Coutinho, Mings 2
Luiz, Kamara, Martinez, Augustinsson, Watkins 1

Be nice if Ramsey could avoid a booking until the more frenetic period after Christmas.

How the flipping heck have Ings and Bailey picked up three yellows each?! Neither of them could tackle the skin on a rice pudding.

Don't worry too much Perce, he's only got the Brighton game left before Olsen takes over anyway.

Quite a bit about Emi in this where Neil Cutler discusses yesterday's game with Ben Foster. First 19 mins is mainly Villa chat covering McPhee and JJ as well as the match. Some interesting stuff including a section about why we might see some more goals from free kicks in the PL.

This is good stuff thanks.

Cutts seems quite complimentary about McPhee, which is good to hear.

I noticed the wall before the Digne free kick.  It looked at least 12 yards to me and the Man U players were moaning before it was taken.  Fair play to McPhee for getting in the refs ears about this.

A few of them have been moaning about the distance between the wall and the ball, then someone put up a picture of the Ronaldo one in the second half and it was the same but he still just shanked it into the defenders shins, the preening plank.

From what Cutler has said there I wonder if fans have just become accustomed to the wall being 6-8 yards and when it's actually at 10 it looks really far away.

I think I read that the ref marked the 10 yards from where the ball was and drew the line with the foam for them to stand behind, then we moved it back a few yards. I really, really hope that's true.

I can't recall us moving the ball (ive not double checked) but I was watching him when he paced it out and thought bloody hell that's generous.  Mentioned it to the bloke next to me at the time as it was that obviously different to what we're used to.  I'm sure some technicians will measure it at some point and will be interesting to see.  My guess would be 12 yeards.

to be fair to the officials, when he lined up the wall for Ronaldos free kick I thought the wall was well over 10 yards away, probably just another shit ref

Cutler is so interesting to listen to. Wow.

So detailed. He'll be missed.
