Even his frustration with getting booked was part of the act and bought a few seconds.

Then, three mins of added time. Was it going to be two without the booking? It's brilliant and I love him even more for it.

This guy is just the best

Thanks for that.

Interestingly when asked who the most competitive player is at Villa it was Konsa and Buendia.

A bit weird that a current PL player (Ben Foster) is already embracing the podcast/youtube-media career. Hope Hodgson knocks it on the head and tells him to behave himself. Plenty of time for that, sunshine.

Second admonishment of Foster is he, like his media pals, mispronounce Emi's surname, with the stress in the wrong place. Wish Emi had put him right.

Yes that's a real bugbear of mine as well. Why can't they get 'Mar-teen-ez' correct? It really isn't difficult. That's why it is written Martínez; nobody gets Benítez wrong and it's the same thing with the accent on the 'i'.

Worst of all are Wolves fans who can't get Raúl Jiménez right.

For what it's worth, my natively Spanish-speaking wife regularly compliments the pronunciation when she hears Martinez on tv. She complains when anybody says Mar-teen-ez.

Yes I agree. My wife is Spanish and her ancestors were also Martínez, with the emphasis on the second syllable. Second syllable for Benítez, Jiménez as well as Hernández, Fernández etc...

Gustavo Poyet was an interesting one back in the day - convention meant that for English commentators he was always "Poy-ay", but in Uruguayan Spanish he was "Pojh-ette".

I think anyway. I'm not Uruguayan, nor do I speak Spanish.
