I thought that. The fact that he didn't do the cheating stutter step bollocks showed that Martinez had got in his head. I've never seen him not do it before.

You only have to hear Fernandez' penalty record to see that Emi got into his head with that.

The other thing I noticed about Martinez yesterday was how quickly he came out when the defence had been caught on their heals by playing a slightly too high line at times. Must have been three times in the second half that he cleared the ball when one of their players looked to be clean through.

If Carlsberg did a decent drink first it would be a better idea :D

Emi knew exactly what he was going to do in the shithousery stakes from the moment the penalty was awarded. He couldnt have out-psyched Fernandes any more if he had water-boarded him for 5 hours before he took the kick. And his faceoff with the Man United lot behind the goal was brilliant, but again see how calm Tyrone was in going over straight away and stopping him. Fabulous captaincy.

I’d love to know what Tyrone said, as Emi had a big smile on his face.
I’d also love to know what Kortney said to Fernandez after the penalty 😂

I only saw Jimmy Rimmer a couple of times live, so my reference points out of all the keepers since are Spink, Bosnich and to a lesser extent Friedal. Not sure Emi has been here long enough yet, to be labelled my favourite from that  bunch, Bozzie. But bloody hell its really hard not to get really carried away with him. Brilliant shot stopper, comes and claims virtually everything from corners etc, great distribution normally, vocal, a leader and a absolute shithouse to the opposition as well. How brilliant that he showed zero respect to Ronaldo abd Fernandes. I seriously love him!!

Nobody exudes confidence and moxy like Emi. It has to give the whole place a massive boost of confidence. We’ve had plenty of good keepers in the past and for the closest in terms of that level of confidence/arrogance/ability is Bozzie. Emi for me is just more better all round.

Rimmer, Spink and Emi are the 3 best I’ve seen in a Villa shirt, from 1970.

Bosnich was good, but certainly not in the same bracket as those 3.
Like John Burridge he was an extrovert who got the crowd on his side.
Both made some wonderful saves, though.

I only saw Rimmer once, at Molineux in a 1-1 draw before I moved down to Devon. I was too young really to notice a good keeper.

Bosnich was outstanding for us and it was an exciting period so have very fond memories of that time.
