It’s especially annoying with Buendia because he’s unlikely to play much is he?

Presumably he has a better chance of playing if other players, eg Messi, haven't turned up.

Messi has turned up.

Edit: it's worth remembering that 'red' countries are only 'red' because that's what the UK classifies them as. Other countries have different rules and taxonomies, so Messi was always going to be there.

Has Nakamba gone too? Zimbabwe is on the red list, so he'd also had to quarantine after the International break.

No, he's decided to give it a miss.

Another edit: Zimbabwe realistically won't qualify for the WC. Argentina realistically could win it.

Has HE decided to give it a miss, or has he been told by us he can't go? I'm wondering if we've given him the exact same option the Emis had, and he made a different decision - or if we put our foot down with him.

From Ashley Preece's Twitter, it sounds like a bit of both.

Marvelous Nakamba staying at Bodymoor Heath at Villa's request. Zimbabwe (red list country) have World Cup qualifiers vs South Africa (Sept 3) & Ethiopia (Sept 7) but Nakamba has agreed to stay in UK to put himself in contention vs Chelsea on September 11. Flag of Zimbabwe #AVFC

Plus work hasn't started on his castle yet so there's nothing for him to inspect. https://allafrica.com/stories/202107050574.html

Castle? It's a 3 bedroom detached house with a garden.

As they have oft said, a Zimbabwean's home is his castle.

Did you know he and Emi Buendia will go off to Croatia for a while before coming back ?!
As part of the quarantine.

I believe the decision is still to go to Hvar.

What will the situation be on their return. If they have to spend two weeks in a hotel then I'd have thought that this would seriously set back their fitness?
