And we are refusing to release them for the  Bolivia game. Seems like a reasonable compromise has been made.

It’s probably the right call but it absolutely knackers us for Chelsea. It’s not like they’re fringe players is it.

We once lost 7-1 at Chelsea and finished 6th so it's not really a season defining game. I think they'll win the league so suggests not many teams will get much there, can't remember the last time we won there either.

Steer has never let us down in the past (albeit not at prem level) so just have to hope he comes in and has amazing game.

Just hope likes of Bailey and Watkins are up to speed in two weeks so we can at least test them a bit at the other end. Oh and the mythical DM is also starting for us.

Nope, it’s ridiculous. It puts us at a big disadvantage compared to our rivals, when a league wide decision had been taken. The players won’t be able to train with their team mates for 10 days after they get back so the chances of them being ready for the Everton game would be slim.

Looks to me like the club told them not to go, and they flicked them the Vs and went anyway. They might be out of quarantine for the Everton game, but they wont be fit having been under house arrest in a hotel room for 10 days not training. Not impressed.

They probably have private gyms and palatial homes and gardens so would guess that they'll be given individual training routines to keep them occupied. We seemed to get better in 2020 when Smith was conducting tactical training by Zoom, so maybe it will work out fine.

You mean when we drew 2 and lost 4 of the first 6 games back?

Looks to me like the club told them not to go, and they flicked them the Vs and went anyway.

Where did you see that?

Looks like most of the selected Argentinian players are heading to Venezuela. Romero and Lo Celso from Spurs as well as 3 from PSG i.e. Di Maria, Paredes and some bloke called Messi.

Based on nothing but gut instinct I tend to agree. I really hope Steer comes in and does well.

Stop bringing facts into it, please. 😡

That does not seem to be the case. Demonstrably a conversation was had and from that a compromise was reached. Not a great outcome but, on balance, better than losing them for three games.

Argentinians are incredibly patriotic. I think a refusal to let them go would have been a worse decision, longer term.

So on top of everything else we now lose another two players? Great.

So are Brazilians not proud to play for their country? Why are they going and not Luiz?

Was Luiz selected?  I read they were considering resting him having done the copa/Olympic double header.

I don't know. Any of the other Brazilians in the Premier League then.
