Next away at Arsenal a chorus of "Thank you very much for Emi Martínez" to the tune of the old 'Roses' ad?

More likely to be the one that goes "He left 'cuz you're shit, he left 'cuz you're shiiiit, Emi Martinez, he left 'cuz you're shit'

Fabulous, the best keeper in South America and he plays for us. Anyone who doubted we have ambition and not going in the right direction should take a good look

Grateful as we obviously are to have him, you'd think he also owes Villa a massive debt of gratitude for what we've done for him.

As recently as 2019 he was pissing about on loan in the Championship. Within a year of us deciding we wanted him he's one of the best keepers in the world, an international champion and a national hero in a country that had barely heard of him a couple of years ago.

He's also started trying to shag everything. Think Mrs Martinez is in for a treat in a day or two.

Not sure about that, she's had a baby girl this week according to Eastie.

I hope his agent is equally mindful of that.
We've given him good business with Buendia too so hopefully he doesn't start to rattle cages and turn Martínez's head.

So happy for Emi. Getting the Golden Glove was just the icing on the cake. Delighted to for Argentina, winning it in Brazil just adds to the sweet victory. Lovely people, beautiful country and one I can't wait to return to. Oh and a big thank you to Arsenal, without their stupidity neither Emi or Argentina would be South American champions.

Elevated to a top 10 keeper in the world.  Brilliant keeper and he plays for the mighty Aston Villa.

Good post but you need to lose the "0".

I think it's fair to say we signed the right Arsenal goalkeeper...

Had the pleasure of meeting Emi and his family yesterday in connection with my work. No ITK but just wanted to say they are lovely people and seem to share our excitement about the coming season. Seems a genuinely nice guy aswell as being the best keeper we've had for many a year.

No ITK? That's rubbish! 😉

Anyway, sounds good, though I expect nothing less of him. Another year of doing what he did last season and he'll be getting on for being held in the regard that some of our past keepers have been...

Shouldn't he be on a well-earned summer holiday? Actually does anyone know when our English/South American internationals are due back at Bodymoor? They deserve the rest of the month to rest-up.
