When both  Gareth Barry and Jack Grealish couldn't get the moves they wanted they returned, sulked for a short time then knuckled  down and performed to their highest ability.  Providing he's still here tomorrow, that is the example Martinez needs to follow.

I don’t really give a toss if he wanted away, he’s our best keeper. Straight back into the team for me.

Exactly.
Yep. Best outcome right now is that he stays & goes straight back in to the first team. He’s a great player and I’m chuffed he’s staying for whatever reason.

Is this guy credible?

He's got 15k followers on X. I wouldn't be buying the 'Sorry you're leaving' cards just yet.

We should absolutely not let him go on the cheap. If he was that set on leaving he could have told us in July and not had us pay him for two matches he wasn't available/couldn't be arsed to play in.

£40 million is the fee, don't take a penny less.

I agree, he shouldn't be rewarded for this. The club shouldn't have let it get to this either so all a bit of a dogs breakfast.

United played Emi and Monchi like a fiddle and brought unrest on the club in doing so.

Seems be increasing noise around him going to Galatasaray now, what a mess.
If he goes there, the tussle against Jhon Duran will be interesting in the Fenerbache derby...

He can't possibly stay here now after everything that's happened, surely? What's happened about Costa?

Exactly and they got for them better moves a year or two later.

Problem is does any 'big' team in Europe see his as a significant upgrade? He's been largely brilliant for us but was poor at times last season.

That's a long drive for his Mrs to go to her shops in and around Brum...

I can only imagine the conversations in their house tonight.

Garry Barry was every bit as vocal about moving to Liverpool. He didn’t get his move and had a magnificent season. No reason Emi can’t do the same.

Tell clubs it's 40m, and it goes up a million every half an hour they piss about.

I don't see why not, he's not said anything publicly and can easily say 'I was prepared to play against Palace but wasn't picked'

All seems pretty avoidable and unnecessary, but not unrecoverable, at least until the next window.

I remember when the Liverpool thing was going, we played Man City at our place, and to the tune of London Bridge, the Man City fans were singing "Gareth Barry thinks you're shit, he loves Scousers" which I thought was quite witty at the time.

There might have been too much damage caused for him to be able to play for us again.
