He was at my grandkids game today watching his own son play for one of the other teams there.

I wasn’t there but my step son, and one of the other mum’s who is a Villa fan who I am friends with have repeated the conversation in almost identical phrasing.

He confirmed that he is on his way, said he really doesn’t want to leave, but ‘that’s football now’.

I,was hoping for more than £40 mill - Man U are desperate!

Pity he couldn't be honest and say he wants to go to a bigger club who will pay him more.

I honestly didn't see this coming this late in the window. Another could have been legend's reputation tarnished. I wish him nothing but the worst from now on. (Assuming he goes)

If he wanted to leave, it might have been nice if he had let us know a bit earlier. Keep him. He won't be refusing to play with the World Cup next year. We have simply no time to get a suitable replacement and should not even be considering letting him go at this stage.

He waved goodbye to Villa Park at the end of last season.

Have we changed it from FFP to PSR/SCR yet?

The worst bit is that it genuinely strengthens them, and might very well weaken us (depending on replacements about whom I know nothing).

I must say I worry Monchi's time at the top might be done. After the omnifiasco at Roma he needed a few big wins to get his rep back, and this window - even allowing for the very difficult circumstances - looks to be leaving the team substantially weaker.

This the least surprising transfer news, he has always been off.
I am getting the impression that all is not quite right at BH right now.

Why would he want to go to an inferior team? ££££?

Don't boo him. Ignore him, that would really get under his skin.
