Best signing of the summer by any club.

Without a shadow of doubt.
£18m bargain.
I really can’t believe we got him.

Best keeper since Jimmy Rimmer.

He's tested positive for being the best keeper in the league. No one can get close to him

Best Villa keeper I've ever seen (too young for Rimmer)

How did Arsenal not know he was quite this good? The fans seemed to. I wouldn't say they've been blessed with great keepers in the last 10 years. Cech was never close to his Chelsea pomp. Jay Leno is decent, but this good? Not convinced (and certainly not based on the respective seasons).

His handling is superb, so many shots and crosses he could've easily spilled back into six yard box but held on comfortably.

Was a huge save first minute aswell.

Could be just Arteta rating Leno more although Martinez was amazing in their FA cup run.

Get the feeling their board put pressure on him to sell given they were getting 15m for a squad player and Arsenal have shortfall in cash now they don't play in champions league much.

To our benefit. Imagine if we'd signed some joker like Aaron Ramsdale instead as was briefly rumoured.

I love his two-handed catches. He's a throwback to when goalkeepers were good (i.e. when I was young and easily impressed)

Agree so many keepers these days have an obsession with punching, but can't remember him doing that once, his handling was superb.

Better than Bozzie for me, as he can distribute the ball very well.

Compare to the other end and our first goal. Their keeper palms it to the centre of the six yard line. Having saved a shot from an acute angle. A tad harsh but he should have done better. Emi would have done better.

Nah, their keeper was excellent. Trying to blame him for their first goal is ridiculously harsh.

I thought their 'keeper had a decent game too.
