Did he wave at the Tarquins at the end and then kiss the Villa badge?

Yes!

Gotta love him!

The best bit being, as PWA points out, if they had him they'd probably win the league.

I also love how much they've had to spend to end up with two keepers, neither of whom are anywhere near as good as Emi.

Ramsdale will probably end up going to one of their rivals too, which sets up for another Martinez like situation when he comes back to haunt them.

Yes, I did see Emery yelling "play" at Martinez several times last night. He was asking Martinez to play the ball because he was taking a while in deciding on couple of occasions
Following the match, Unai also praised Martínez for his exceptional performance in goalkeeping and his dedication to maintaining a high standard of conduct.
They respect each other in a healthy way, in my opinion.

As the great man said tonight, “we are not just here to take part”

A great interview on MOTD. Some of the lines he came out with were almost “do you want to bet against us?” levels of
confidence/self belief/arrogance. Lovely stuff!

That interview was brilliant.
If he’d have come out with “do you want to bet against us?” I wouldn’t have been surprised, but I’ll settle for “I’m a believer, mate”😂

If you are in the UK, MOTD on iplayer, 28 minutes in.

Transcript is:

Interviewer: "The manager said midweek that if we win again at the weekend, we are in the title race, is that how the players feel as well?"

Greatest Keeper in the World: "Yeah of course. When you beat City and Arsenal in a week, one game controlling them, like I have never seen Man City being controlled, then suffering against Arsenal for 85 minuites and managing to win again, I'm a believer mate!"

It's good to have the balance of someone like Martinez, with the likes of McGinn who tow the company line and keeps a level head, and then throw in the likes of Torres who has been there done that under Emery and knows he can deliver the things he promises.

I didn't see the game due to being in Large London having a, how to say, Large time. I got back last night and the only thing I remember of the previous 72 hours is that interview. What a fucking man he is.
