Did he wave at the Tarquins at the end and then kiss the Villa badge?

Yes!

Gotta love him!

The best bit being, as PWA points out, if they had him they'd probably win the league.

Yes!

Didn't see him kiss the badge, but he stood there on his own for a good minute or so waving and clapping at them as they left.

Needless to say, they didn't take it very well!

I think we have a Mellberg or Carew type in Emi. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he's there in the stands in fifteen years, cheering us on.

He obviously feels a bit aggrieved about his treatment from them and has said many times that he is very grateful to Villa for believing in him and giving him the opportunity to be a number one.
I'm sure our victory was very sweet for him and SUE.

I totally agree with this this Rory. A private box with a retired Emi and retired Super John would be a brilliant day out. I'd pay thousands for that opportunity (and probably die happy).

Might be in a minority, but thought his save from Odegaard was great, and better than his Haaland saves on Wednesday.

He was ten yards from goal and put it hard, low and towards the corner- that the keeper is brilliant enough to preempt where he's going to go and hold onto it as well is all on the keeper, not the attacker who has "put it straight at him".

Great work Emi.

Agreed, we said the same at the match last night. He pre-empted the strike and in doing so made it look a lot easier than it actually was.

I love the fact that he's said that Villa are in the title race. You'd expect Unai to want to keep a lid on things, but it's good to hear the likes of Emi sticking his neck out.

Yea, he’s said ‘I’m a believer’! Love him.

Emi is just a winner. Obviously Messi is massive for Argentina, and they wouldn’t have won the Copa America or World Cup without him, but the thing that changed them into winners was Emi coming into the side. He is an absolute star.

I also love how much they've had to spend to end up with two keepers, neither of whom are anywhere near as good as Emi.
