Not only the best but he genuinely loves the club and wants to play for us. And at 31 he has many years in front of him. I don’t think many would begrudge him the chance to achieve everything domestically. Hopefully it with us. But I can see him at Real Madrid when he’s 35. He's the same age as Courtois - unless he breaks his neck or something then he's not going to leave and they're not going to want to get rid of him.

I reckon we might just get very lucky in that most clubs* who would be a step up are pretty comfortable with their existing keepers. If they were as rare as decent centre-forwards then I imagine he'd be gone already.

*Possibly Bayern might be hanging around like a kipper sewn into a curtain lining.
