His movement for his goal deserves a mention, he was well out wide and passed to Bendy and a few seconds later was in the middle to finish the move.
Absolutely. There were so many good things happening in that goal - the high press and turnover, the 50-50s won, the dummy run from Digne, the dribble - but Ollie’s movement was exceptional.

The goal from start to finish was a thing of beauty. Some pundit mentioned how Watkins having made the pass didn't look up, his sole focus was sprinting to be in the right position.

Made all the more striking by his starting position being more or less the same as Emi's, and the way he doesn't take his eyes off him.

He panicked Milenkovic into making the mistake and heading the ball out of Ortegas hands which meant the ball was kept alive in the Forest end. From that point on it was down to Ollie and Buendia with a cameo from Youri.

I think last night was his best ever performance in a Villa shirt.
Someone needs to head but him every game.
His physicality against the Forest defenders was immense.

That’s not quite as abstract an idea as it might seem.

Who was it he said he’l had chats with Michael Owen? Who said the same as his Dad, that he needed to play angry.
I do wonder if that sense of being wronged/the injustice of being clobbered helped ignite something further in him.
Either way as every man and his dog is saying, he’s hit form at the right time the time.

Osimhen is 27 and pissfarting his career away in Turkey.

Maybe we could rescue him.

Probably on £300k/week.

Yeah, we'd need a clear out.

That's the going rate for top players though sadly.

It is, but I'm not sure Osimhen fits in that category. He's good but I'm not sure he's quite in that elite group, which is why he took the money in Turkey, because I doubt he was getting that sort of contract anywhere else (except SA). I think he'd be a very risky signing for anyone given the numbers that would be involved.

He's paid loads as it is, we'd have to pay even more because of the tax breaks players get in Turkey. It would be a stupid signing.

Is this the Osimhen who supposedly had a bid for €75mil from PSG but who has been priced at €150mil by his club?

Yep, that's what I mean about the numbers. He's a minimum quarter of a billion euro investment at this point and I don't know if he's that good because that's Kane/Haaland/etc level and I just don't see it.

I don't for a second see any point talking about him as a prospect for us, I just commented on the 'going rate for top players' bit.

We're talking on another thread how we may sell Martinez to save a few million a year because of financial restrictions. On no planet is spending £100m on a transfer and over 300k a week in wages anything but stupid.

It was on the assumption we'd have a way to work the finances out hence why I said we'd need a clear out.

You just like to stalk me and hop on anything I post to go "ackshually".

That's disingenuous, though, you know he's saying it's stupid because of the finances. We'd all want world class players but know full well we're not in a position to without sanctions or limiting what we do elsewhere. Strange to cry laugh at it, it wasn't that funny.
