At his best in that second half. Worked hard whilst isolated in the first too. Great stuff.

Brilliant tonight in second half. Just what Villa and England need.

Ollie Watkins talks to TNT: “At half-time I said to the boys, ‘come on lads, we need to wake up. We got lucky, they had a disallowed goal.’

“Back end of the season I’m raring to go. I could play another 90 minutes right now. I’m excited for the last few games."

Say what you want about his poor control but you can't fault his attitude.

Too strong and too quick for their centre backs. Showed some nifty footwork at times near the sideline too.

So pleased for Ollie, he was fantastic & has been the last few games. Hopefully this is the start of one of his good runs. Great interview too, proper fired up.

If he gets his hundredth for us on Sunday, that'll also be double figures for league goals in all six of his Premier League seasons with us.

Without checking, I imagine no other player in the league has managed that (Salah needs five before the end, and obviously goes back further too)

1 away from being only the 12th player to score 100 Villa goals.

You can't argue with that. He really has served us with distinction.

First since Peter Mac if he does it. Really hope he does.

No disrespect to you MV, but I had to check that stat. And indeed you’re correct, Ollie will be the first Villain to score 100 goals for the club since Peter McParland.

That’s incredible really, and testament to Ollie’s physical endurance, mental fortitude and no little skill. We all see his limitations and he’s frustrating as hell at times but he’s been a superb servant to The Villa.

Would love nothing more than to see him score the winner in Istanbul.

Where has this attitude been the rest of the season? It's taken until the last month of the season and for him to be dropped by England because of his form before a World Cup for him to show up.

And maybe finally getting over the condition that has been affecting him on and off and has been hinted at by Tuchel, Emery and the player.

Hopefully coming good at the right time for Villa. Could be massive for us and his World Cup hopes.
