I think many, certainly within the game. expected 15 year old Rooney to be top class before reaching 20. Mainly because he was the oldest looking 15 year old in history.

Until Luke Littler.

Called Luke The Nuke because he looks simultaneously like a fat man, and a little boy.

People thought thirteen year old Wayne Rooney was going to be an England regular at sixteen? Yeah, that didn't happen.

No it didn't happen, because he didn't play for England as a 16 year old. He did get his first cap about 12months after the youth cup final though, and I suspect plenty of people who watched that game fully expected him to be an England regular before long, but one of the advantages of the old setup of pointless international friendlies is that they allowed you to do things like call up a bunch of players to see how they got on in training and then swap the entire team at half time.

With the amount Tuchel has called up, I wonder if he is looking at doing similar over the next two matches.

Picking such a big squad for this next round of games does make me think we might see 2 very different teams.

Could almost be four seperate teams over each half.

If Ollie has any pretensions of going to the world cup he’s got to start banging goals in starting tomorrow. No better incentive for him.

Very happy for him. Great awareness for his goal, but his all round play was very good too.

Had a good game, took his goal well. Play like that every week and nick goals and he deserves his place in the team  8)

I thought he was very good today. Led the line well and was a constant menace.
