Amazing, still finds an (inaccurate) way to have a go at Watkins, even when he gets us a massive win.

Im going to stick my neck out again and predict that Smirker is trying to make our 11th win on the trot all about him again (i have him blocked). What a saddo.

He refused not to be the best Ollie Watkins today. Something clicked which would be very welcome were it to continue clicking. Fucking well in lad.

Hopefully this restores his confidence and he can go on a scoring run.

Nice one Ollie.
Shut a few people up with that cameo lad

One great cameo does not cancel 20 bad games. Give him credit for today by all means but no need to rewrite history.

Likewise Malen can have two starts, play shit and then that's proof Watkins should start?

The inconsistency here is mental.

Hopefully this restores his confidence and he can go on a scoring run.

I think both his biggest defenders and biggest detractors would accept he's quite a streaky player.

If he can make the second half of the season one of those streaks to make up for the poor (albeit, not as poor as the crazy types would make you think) first half, this could get very interesting.

Delighted for Ollie tonight. It's been a while coming, and he's taken a lot of flak. If only he could get on a run now, like in Unai's first season - goal a game for 10 or so games.

He’s an outstanding player and has been for 6 years now.

He’s not world class - but we cant be mad at him for that.  Look at  Man Utd and Arsenal who sign these next big things - I’ll be shocked if they have the impact in the next 5 years that Ollie had.

An exceptional 30 mins from Watkins. He showed exactly why he's so important to the team & how we play. He hasn't been consistent this season but when he does it makes a huge difference. But Malen doesn't & won't ever bring anything like the same to the team

And despite that we're third & won 11 on the trot.

It’s not inconsistency it’s you failing to see what an in form happy Ollie Watkins can offer an Emery side.

We all know he’s not been hitting those highs this season, last season we had a Rashord and Duran to help, this season we’ve only got Malen, who’s isn’t the right fit, but can be very useful.

Instead of constantly having a go, we’ve (the worshipers) have been wanting Ollie to hit those highs he can reach and hoping he does. We haven’t had a choice, we’ve got no one else. Last summer was a wake up call, as the money situation hit home. I’m not sure what or who is available.  Looking at the market, 30M buys you fuck all, and most are not happy with our last 30m purchase, so let’s try and get behind our best striker in a generation and support the fella.

When Watkins came on he was playing damn near the halfway line dropping deep to link up the play. I knew at that exact moment he was hungry and fired up.

I will be having a small punt on the hat trick for the next one because 4 shots, 4 shots on target and 2 goals in 30 minutes is pure filth. ;)

Fucking hell he's still giving Ollie stick even after that performance.

Pointing out one good cameo doesn't erase 20 bad games because he's apparently "shut people up" and "that's why he starts" is not giving him stick.

It's supposedly the season of goodwill. Enjoy it rather than look for negatives.
