And that is why he starts rather than Malen.

If he plays like that for the rest of the season - we’ll win trophies

I imagine coming off the bench, changing the game and scoring twice is probably a good thing to show he can do if he doesn't want a long summer holiday.

He didn't start though. If anything it shows he should be playing from the bench.

That's what we need from Ollie.  Well played.

Malen did fuck all starting again.

Malen is a brilliant impact sub. I think he’s accepted in place in things. Start Malen in cups and the odd league game with Ollie but on his own he’s now going to give us what we need up front.

Yeah but he hasn't had a run of starts has he? Ollie has shown he is a better player coming off the bench  8)

Impossible to criticise him tonight, and churlish to try.

Watkins changed the game. Half an hour at full pelt. It transformed our attack having a functioning striker in the team.

Malen just isn't physical enough to be on his own against premier league centre backs, he adds something to the squad and was a very good signing but he's not a replacement for Ollie who, as we've all been arguing for months, does bring something more and is regularly mentioned by defenders as one of the hardest forwards to play against in the league. We do need another striker because who can offer that physicality if Ollie isn't there, i was hoping that's how we'd use Guessand but clearly the club see him differently to me.

Not really, it showed why the other stuff good forwards do is important to making the team work.
