I’m still hopeful he will come good. It would be such a shame to end his Villa career on such a lull. He’s been a superb professional and player and as I’ve said before, I always admire players who have slogged it through the lower leagues.

Him being a Devonshire lad has always given me a sweet spot for him. Fingers crossed he finds some form, a bit of time out won’t hurt him, however Emery is a believer in him and seems to like him up front regardless of his scoring intent.

He has always been a favourite and he continues to work hard for the team. It’s difficult to question his commitment to the cause.

But, he seems a fraction of a second behind where he should be and gets outmuscled in most one on one’s.

He worked hard enough again but he badly needs a goal. Unucky with that effort just before half time though.

Playing with any kind of muscle injury on that pitch wouldn’t have helped his recovery or form.

Yep surely people aren't falling for that. Do people really think Unai would persist with an injured player? Come on...

This isn’t me saying it. Reputable sources like one of the best club managers in world football and the current manager of England have said it. But you can go believe what you want of those sources aren’t sufficient.

He's clearly half a yard short of pace so I can believe that there's a niggle he's playing through.

It could be that he's just lost it and won't get it back but he seems a bit young for that, especially given he's never been through the injury issues that would make that more likely.

His efforts to attack McGinn's cross at start of second half said it all I'm afraid.

Then I would have to believe he's been playing with an injury for months and rather than start 11 fit players, Unai has persisted with an injured one.

I don't think so.

I really hope I’m wrong (not a hater at all), but he looks shot to me.  A yard or two off the pace.  Like he’s been out injured for a year or more.

He’ll start scoring again soon then the spotlight will turn to another Villa player who isn’t performing. A bit the Rogers situation earlier in the season.

I wouldn’t bother, Smirker has a MAGA like mentality to reason when it comes to Ollie.

I think the problem here is that, for whatever reason, Smirker has decided that he was actually never good, and that this is FINALLY being REVEALED, like the Epstein files. Whereas what's actually happening is that he's been very good, but currently is struggling.
