Tuchel has just said that Ollie is playing with some ‘discomfort’ hence his non-inclusion in the England squad.
So Watkins is injured then? Has that passed me by?

I'm not surprised by this at all.  There's something not right with him.

I certainly watch him in some discomfort.

A) Why are we playing him if he’s injured.
B) Why has this not been disclosed by the club?
Weird.

He's not injured, he's just been reading Smirker's posts.

I'm pro Ollie, I think he's a player who will be rightly looked back on with tremendous fondness because of his vital role in this team.

However, that moment late on where he had a sniff of a through ball but miscontrolled it and fell over sums up his season. See also the one v Citeh. Totally bereft of confidence or even looking like he knows what to do in those situations.

Fingers crossed he bangs in a couple on Sunday now.

People didn't actually think he'd be selected did they?

Yes. Solely down the the lack of options in the central striker role if Kane is unavailable. All the others in the squad in the forward positions are wide players. Of course on form it’s not shocking but there’s a real lack of competition for Kane’s backup.

Such a waste that Toney went to Saudi, if he signed for any club in Europe, he’d score goals and be in contention as a front man for the squad.

Whatever, it’s okay, Foden had a good game so he’ll be Kane’s understudy as a false 9.

Danny Welbeck should be the one disappointed. Who'd have thought he'd end up being pretty decent at his old age?

I expect Rashford will see some minutes in the middle like he did with us.

For sure but it’s not really his position so on that I can see why perhaps Watkins is unfortunate not to be picked but on current form perhaps not a surprise to him.

Listening to something last week and apparently Rashford’s numbers this season have been masking his performances but I suppose you’d rather have it that way than what Watkins has been doing.

Managed to shake off those niggling injuries late in his career. Might not be the worst sub to have in a tournament.
