35 in his last 77 league games. Hardly a poor return.

16 in 61 is factually incorrect as even counting cup games he scored 17 in 54 last season.

That changes everything.

17 in 61. Top 6 striker level.

We simply cannot get anyone better than that.

God this forum's so fucking boring when we lose these days. All the monomaniacs spam the threads of that player they hate and demand applause.

I remember the old days, the late-night brawls about 4-4-2, the nuances of Lerner's divorce, whether MON was in fact good or actually bad. What have we been reduced to? 'Right foot for standing on' and, literally, paella jokes in the match thread. Embarrassing.

Anyway, I'm off to bung up the Matty Cash thread.

Yup. It’s quite evident in the first two games that for whatever reason the team is set up wrong. Every player has struggled to differing degrees across those two games. It’s really not about individual failings at the moment, certainly in terms of cause.

This seems to be the issue, we can all pick holes with individual players but we’re not clicking as a team currently, things need tweaking and changing. What to, god knows, but we seem to be  searching for a soul currently we just haven’t got started.

Ollie was at his best when our deep lying midfielder could find him with balls through the defensive line. Dougie was excellent at this. Youri is too from deep. Rogers isn't yet at the level where at 10 he finds the space to find those passes. Our away form improved with Rashford down the middle because he'd run into the spaces behind the defensive line and had the pace to easily turn it round, which gave us space to play. Watkins doesn't do that so much, he's become quite static over the last 18 months. Jackson moves much much more. We need movement, with that Rogers comes alive too. Everything is too slow, too straightforward, too static. The midfield and attacking unit needs a reboot and fresh look.

You are becoming associated with one issue and no others to the point of tedium, mate.

I'm no mod, but you should probably move on from your hard-on against Watkins.

I'm not going to stop discussing player performances after the game.

I regularly bump the player threads and I will keep doing it.

Cheers  8)

But Smirker, you are discussing the same player over and over and over. Its the equivalent of trying to beat everyone down until they agree with you out of exhaustion, or eventually winning the argument because Ollie Watkins is now 35 and plying his trade where it all started at Exeter, so he must of been shit after all.

All I said, was he was anonymous yesterday.

Then it was blamed on him having no service which I replied to and it went from there.

Hopefully he has a good game against Palace  8)

In fairness he’s not the only one who’s obsessed with an individuals player performances

Can we criticise him yet or is it still everyone else's fault?

It's now 17 in 62.

The glee some have when it's not going well is weird.
