Sky Sports News also opened their 8pm piece with an article discussing a possible deal with Garnacho going to Villa and Ollie going to them. No mention in Sky's article of Villa stating Ollie isn't for sale!

Talk Shite trying to sell Ollie off to Man Ure tonight. "Why wouldn't Ollie go to Man Ure?"

Usual bullshit. Fallen out with Emery and doesn't start enough games etc.

******!

I do laugh when those plastic tossers claim to be 'the biggest club in the world'. They're such wankers, it's no surprise even their owners hate them.

He's had a proper summer off, it's a world cup year and he'll be full first choice at Villa. While I would have sold him at the start of the window, we'd be mad to now.

Exactly. We got rid of Duran in January, and Rashford/Asensio are gone again. We're back to him basically being first/only choice, in a system that works for him. I know a lot on here give him grief when he misses, but can you imagine the Man U ghouls putting up with even half the misses? They'd turn on him after 2 games.

I know it’s popular to point out the chances he misses, but in the last 3 seasons in the league he has directly contributed to 21, 33, and 24 goals respectively. Replacing that would be remarkably difficult, he’s an absolutely key player.

It would be difficult but not impossible. I’ve said it several times this summer, I’m in the keep Ollie camp and feel, like you, he’s a key player in how we play. However, if he did go either because he wanted to or Emery was willing to let him go then Emery may look to recruit a different type of striker who may be more effective and that person may be at first glance not at Ollie’s level. A good example here would be Chris Wood. Most of us thought he was an absolute donkey and what were Forest doing, but he’s seamlessly adapted and been effective in that team and the way they play, who’s to say we couldn’t do something similar?

And for the avoidance of doubt I’m not saying we should sign Chris Wood.

I think especially without UCL football, we need to stick.  A very good, proven and reliable player.  Replacements would have needed to be of Rashford levels or similar.  I.e. potential to be world class, and were just not signing anyone better at the moment

Well he should be at close to his fittest he's been for some time. Much will depend on tactics and service.
Over to you, Unai.

Yep. If Ollie stays this summer then I reckon he will be here for a while. That’s great news for the club because it gives us a few seasons to find another Duran. Malen being the back up in the meantime.

Not a bad place to be.

I guess the only way he goes now is if he asks to go. In the market this summer though, he's definitely worth no less than £60m.
