He was abysmal, but he didn't get much service either.

Anonymous today baring a bit of work in the left channel. Wondering if he’ll come out ‘fuming’ again based on that performance.

Every player is replaceable at Villa, no matter who they are.
With the backroom team we have I'm hoping that the current crop will be replaced by better and that these in turn will be replaced by better. That goes without saying.
It seems some posters are incapable of coming up with a consistent argument for wanting rid of Ollie. They're probably constantly arguing with themselves.  One recently suggested what made his/her mind up about Ollie, was the fact he didn't bag his 20th pl goal last season, conveniently forgetting the 19 he'd scored to put him in that position in the 1st place. Wow! It takes all sorts!
I'll enjoy the good players we have atm and the better ones when they arrive.

Whatever the future holds it will be great to see him get past Gabby's record at the weekend.

Yeah, that was me. It was a bit more nuanced than that.

Edit: and I've been pretty consistent on Watkins, however wrong people think I am.

Thing is though SE there’s been 4 main attackers who’ve got stuck on 19 since Withe, it’s like theirs a curse or something! Platt, twice I think, Yorke once, Benteke once or twice and now Watkins once. It’s really quite bizarre.

Another game with some profligate finishing.

He will be fuming that he still hasn't overtaken Agbonlahor.

I know it's not the majority view but I'm just not that big a fan, he misses too many really good chances (the one on one he missed is one of those 50/50's but the chance straight after half time was a dolly).

Should have had a brace today - That Cash cross, how the fuck did he miss that!
He's supposedly a top English goalscorer - Prove it. Really didn't like how he whinged to the press about being dropped against Paris - Put the ball in the net and you're in the team, simple! It's not rocket science.

The chances he's had this season he should have swept Gabby's record aside in February. Doesn't like competition and thinks he's better than he actually is. Delusions of grandeur I'm afraid.

And going back to being left out of the Paris game - He scored just ONE goal in the whole tournament (*plus a penalty miss against Celtic). Unai well within his rights to drop him with that return.

I love and rate Ollie.
But, 2 massive chances fluffed today.
It’s a good job we don’t have to depend on him.

He works hard, and he does so much for the team, however his finishing just isn’t good enough, he blows too many key chances. Fully expect him to move in the summer, and if he does he’ll go with everyone’s thanks and appreciation but we need a stone cold killer up front, sadly Ollie isn’t that.
