What does he have a longstanding, proven record of? It certainly isn't goalscoring, he's had one good season in 5 in that regard.

He’s our all time leading premier league goal scorer ffs.

So was Agbonlahor.

After player 160-odd more games.

Smirker is generally reasonable but is very blinkered when it comes to Ollie.

He might see things a bit more clearly if he took off those shades every now and then.

The guy has always worked his knackers off for us as well and deserves respect.

yes he isnt a natural footballer for me,  but he works his arse off and we will miss him when he goes

Imagine being England’s #2 striker and our all-time leading goal scorer, and being deemed not a natural footballer. Seriously, what does this even mean?

Is his first touch poor at times, sure but hyperbole like this is just absurd. On a Villa forum no less.

Indeed, his first touch could be better at times and he could be more clinical - but his positives way outweigh the negatives and the net result is an exceptionally consistent performer in the top flight. He is ace.

So goals to games ratio does matter then.
And Ollie has played a lot of games too. 54 last season and only managed 17 goals.

£40m and smug boy Garnacho?

Noooooooooooooooooooo

United likely value Garnacho higher than Watkins.

Then they can keep him.

He's a 1 in 3 striker but with assists and great workrate and barely injured . So overall good .

He's scored 87 in 223 ( 1 in 2.5) and 36 assists. Smirker you have a blind spot on this one if you think that isn't good. Can you or anyone else think of someone who is also deemed ''not good'' with a similar or better record?

But Smirker wants that elusive 1 in 2 striker, or even better 2 in 1. We need the next Messi or Ronaldo or at least something near as good as Salah.

I love him and will dearly miss him when gone

Classic case of 'poster posts ill thought-out opinion, realises he's talking nonsense, refuses to back down, so doubles down, digging self even deeper hole'.

If Isaac goes I can see Newcastle making a significant bid for Watkins.

I'm surprised clubs keep sniffing around our players when the obvious thing would be for them to go and sign one the plethora of better and cheaper players out there.

Similarly, it's mad that they're not knocking our door down to pay as little as £80m for him.
