Totally the rationale for me . Sign the best right back in the championship play him at right back in the Prem
Glad Dean and I are on same page that's probably why I like him so much have similar football philosophy.

Dean Smith is good at growing players and Cashy is defo the sort who Dean Smith can further grow .
Cash loves a shot from outside the box if a little way ward and also needs improving on accuracy of crossing and assists but can't help his enthusiasm , drive and energy.

Boy can get up and down all day long.
Defensively once he understand the shape I think he play a key role on that side of pitch.
Few more cash type signings and upgrades in pace and energy and I think Villa can comfortably play higher up the pitch and press far more .

We'll surprise a few people in premier league , whatever business we do, and feel Villa will only get better this season!

I'm a lot more relaxed about the signing now Dean has confirmed where he sees him playing. All this talk about him playing on the wing or in midfield had me extremely concerned.

“He has an excellent playing record for a young player and we believe he will settle in easily and continue his rapid development into a top full-back.”

But aren't you concerned that it might be a rather pointless and budget-sapping signing?
I really don't know enough about him to make a call on that, but any player that potentially makes us better is alright by me. Every signing's a risk etc. Bit too early to judge until we see what other singings are made. If we end up with glaring holes in our squad like last season, then i'd be agreeing with you.

I bet you’re a laugh at parties.

I'm more concerned Dean doesn't seem to know his left from his right.

It's not so much him of course, he seems a really good player.

Anyone know who he supports?

I notice that his dad is from Tipton and has played for Stourbridge and Halesowen

His family are all big Albion fans

Oh shit!

In that case he's got 3 games to become as accomplished as Carlos Alberto before I start booing him on to the pitch

A really likeable bloke from the interviews.  I've got a feeling he'll be a bit of a favourite.

I love this picture. Shows how much joining us means to him and his family unlike some of the moody foreign signings we make who think they are doing US a favour by signing.

Yes indeed.  Bloody moody foreigners who sign for us, thinking they're doing US a favour.

Too right, they too should drag their extended family from whichever corner of the globe they live in to the signing, show some bloody gratitude.

I'm thinking of the likes of Ayew who never smiled once and mumbled through interviews. Some others thought they were lowering themselves to play for us, thats what I meant. Not a 'foreign' thing, didn't mean it that way.
