I don't think he's only being bought to play RB. I can see him playing RM with Freddie. Good signing for a very promising player.
Didn’t he play RM against us in the 5-5 draw and score ? Not reading too much into the scoring piece obviously as on the night just about everyone scored.

He played in a 2-2 game against us and we broke his leg. According to Wikipedia

That was one of RDM’s classics losing a 2 goal lead.  It got a bit salty they had a bloke sent off.  Think it’s the same game anyway.

RDM was in a no-win situation from day one. In many ways.

I was quite pleased when we appointed him. A mere four years later I already forget he ever managed us.

Lansbury scored a late equaliser and then we bought him ?

Nice one. Think it is a position we needed to strengthen so good stuff.

Need a replacement LB and Striker.
That's your wishlist after last seasn - rightback, leftback & striker?

That is the highest priority list. A wish list is Messi, Van Dijk and MBappe.

I hope the days of signing ageing, overpriced shite like Messi are over. As for the other two, we've gone foreign, it doesn't work.

I remember that we battered them but their keeper was having a blinder, they went up with some fluky long-ranger, we scored twice in quick succession late on, but then Lansbury scored and the bloke who set up the goal was sent off for a second yellow for excessive celebration.

At that point, I still had hopes for RDM, thought it was only a matter of time before the draws turned into wins once the chances started being converted, but they kept piling up and eventually there was Preston away which did for him.

And lo, the infamous ‘we’re going to give someone a real good thrashing soon’ was born.

Best of luck to him. Was hoping we'd be going for proven players with top level experience this transfer window though. Great if he comes off. Let's hope he does.

A really likeable bloke from the interviews.  I've got a feeling he'll be a bit of a favourite.

He is the best thing to come out of Slough since 'The Office'.

I could live without The Office but not without Mars confectionery.

Tracey Ullman was born in Slough, the cartoonist Steve Bell grew up in Slough, Lego has UK offices based in Slough.

Sir John Betjeman was right about Slough

RDM was in a no-win situation from day one. In many ways.

I was pleased when he was appointed. He was a Champions League winning manager and more importantly a Championship promotion winning manager.

We were a mess though and it took a more experienced manager to stop the slide and reverse the way we were going.

Matty Cash signed and I fully expect him as the right back and so should we all.
Need to drop the Guilbert love in now. He's so last season. I won't be posting on Guilbert thread til really deemed necessary! ever ! Again.

This player Cash "bright prospect " is far more important to Villa this season on the right hand side of defence. Dean Smith will hope to oversee Cash's "rapid development into a top full-back." (Quote head coach)

Up the Villa!
