I decided to let the Club keep my money for the 3 season tickets as a debt to be settled on upon renewal.
So did I as I didn't read the notice properly. Will they announce season ticket sales or wait until fans are let back into the grounds which may be never!

I had a credit against my next season ticket.

Have you received it?
If so, how did you find out it had been credited?

I don't know what the predicted arrangements are for 2020/21, so I've written the following, but the only e-mail address I have is reception@avfc.co.uk . Anyone know of a more precise target for Season Ticket policy at AVFC?

Re: Aston Villa Season Ticket Arrangements for 2020/21?

F.A.O.  Head of Ticketing/Season Tickets
Hi,
My wife (id: 107879) and myself (id: 83217) have been Villa season ticket holders for 20 + years and supporters for many decades before then.  As is evident, we are in the over 65/ senior category and potentially we are in the ‘proceed with caution!’ zone in this time of Covid (although we are both in good health, I’m glad to say).

We are situated in the B5 block of the Trinity stand and over these many years (through good times and not so good times…!) we have built up a rapport and friendships with the people around us.  While we might all be scared of Covid, what terrifies us (and that includes a fair number of the people around our seating area) more is that forthcoming arrangements might deprive us of our precious seats and our ‘neighbours’, because we might be denied a season ticket altogether because of age and stadium capacity restrictions until the virus can be successfully combatted by a vaccine.

As the most optimistic prediction suggests that it would be Spring of 2021 before a vaccine could be produced and shown to be effective, could we possibly make some suggestions (and a plea!) as to what might be a strategy for people like ourselves who could be denied our precious season tickets and location to follow the club we love?

•   We could, say, pay half of the cost of the forthcoming season ticket (£150/£160’ish?) and for that we would be guaranteed the ‘preservation’ of our allocated seats and AVFC would supply us with codes to access home games via Sky, Amazon, BT etc. (the club to arrange a deal with these companies using the revenue from our season ticket payments)?  (We currently have a ‘Now’ £10game-by-game subscription.)   n.b We were very grateful for the similar scheme the club put in place for the games after the lockdown.

•   Our Season Tickets would not be activated during the time of stadium restrictions, so this would allow the club to make those seats available to non-season ticket holders on a game –by-game basis, when there is an improving, partial relaxation. This would also prevent Season Ticket holders loaning their cards (informally) to family and friends and avoids abuse of the system and maintains a revenue stream for the club.

•   Should there be a national relaxation of stadium limits because of a vastly improved situation, say by the Spring of 2021, we could be given the option of paying the balance of the full (concessionary) cost of our Season Tickets and they would be activated by the club accordingly and we could attend as normal.  This would prevent the club from any loss of revenue when full attendance is permitted and give those Season ticket holders the option to fully renew.

•   As we are all hoping, season 2021/2022 will take place under normal conditions and those of us who have subscribed to this 2020/2021 ‘Covid’ scheme would be able to take up their regular seats again without any break in continuity.

•   Such a scheme would show the club’s social awareness during this distressing time and demonstrate their loyalty to the ‘family’ of fans who have followed the team through ‘thick and thin’ over many years.
I hope that these ideas make a positive contribution to the consideration of what are the ways forward for the club when considering the problem of maintaining revenue and the continuity of the vast number of fans who are fearful of losing their cherished place in the fortunes of the club.

UTV!

I would hope non of this is really necessary.  I would imagine the club will sell seats as and when they can, but when the stadium gets back to full capacity previous ST holders will get first dibbs on their previous seats.  I can't see any other equitable solution.

There's a bit of confusion over spring 2020/2021 there but apart from that, it's a good letter.

I don't understand why people feel they should pay to preserve their seat?

That seems similar to what West Ham are doing. However, I think there's some wishful thinking going on if you think the club will cover the pay-per-view telly costs!

Has anybody who opted for a credit rather than a refund from last season heard anything yet?
I would have thought that process would have been much easier and therefore quicker to administer and complete than refunds.
I have heard nothing. I want my money back now especially if the ground is to remain closed to fans.

I also didn't read it properly. The refund option was hidden at the bottom.

The club tweeted a reply to somebody yesterday with regards to this. They said if you asked for a credit on your account rather than a refund you would receive this before the 12th September. No idea if that’s in the form of a voucher or a credit on your online account.

The club have sent out an email with a 5 minute survey regarding the situation. And you can win a shirt! Pretty painless. Check your inboxes.

I should say, it's more about approaching the lifting of attendance restrictions than renewal options.

I look forward to the time when we can all go back to watching Aston Villa at Villa Park again.
