I can't believe Smith started with him after the Palace game. If you manage to win playing with 10 men, you don't fucking try to repeat the trick next game.

I wonder if he’s another who misses the drama of the crowd. He was such a favourite at his last club and they made one hell of a racket with his chant.

Looked a headless chicken yesterday. Devoid of any confidence whatsoever...not ideal in a scrap really.

He's not exactly helping the cause but I'm willing to give him some slack.

You've got to remember he landed in a new country with a completely different culture and language and within 2 months the country was locked down.

On a personal level I can imagine the last six months have been incredibly difficult for him.

That's fair enough, but don't keep playing him in that case. I'm all for keeping a winning team but unless he's a lucky mascot, there was absolutely no sane reason he kept his place for Everton. And he was rotten again. Not that Davis is any better. We  have midfielders who whatever their other deficiencies can create and get on the end of chances. Stick Davis in midfield if need be as he does contribute in the build-up, but don't keep playing two forwards who are not gonna score if we play till christmas

You would therefore think that football would be his release.  They are very privileged are footballers and effort and hard work should come naturally.  That said, if I had Trezeguet as one of my main sources of service, I would probably just give up.  Grealish was really greedy too yesterday.

Plus Davis is the only other Cf option. No too many choices for DS when you consider our 4 attackers

nothing disguises the fact that our investment in forwards this season has been shambolic.

Exactly. The problem isn't Samatta.

The problem is that we're having to rely on Samatta.

As I said in the match thread, he seemed to be playing in slow motion, seeming to really overthink everything he was doing and then telegraphing what decision he made.

I’m surprised at how poor his heading is. His technique and  decision making is woeful.
As his goal threat is zero  like Davis , I would play Davis ahead of him for the last two as  there is so much more to the lad’s play and we may as well tune him up for Div2 now.
