The amount of Leicester fans moaning about us parking the bus, they obviously weren't at VP 25/01/2000.

What do they expect? They're a better team than us, they've got better players than us and if we'd attacked from the off we'd have got battered.

Anyone who thought Taylor defended well perhaps only saw live at the match without replays and the big picture.

Clear to see he was out of position several times and their was a notable attack by Ricardo Pereira where he went round him and was able to put it into the penalty box very easily.
Also several times was exposed and allowed for Leicester players to have attacks down that left side.
Vardy , Madison both had chances first half all with Taylor poor positions
Similarly there was some space on right side where Guilbert defending but no one as bad as Taylor .
Definitely some work needs to be done by Villa for the full back positions and understanding that role.

I can only see Mahrez or Bernardo enjoying all day long playing against Taylor on Sunday and being allowed to cut in to have shots a plenty.
For me Taylor isn't suited to a wing back role as he's a passenger going forward and has no sense of how to be attacking .

Good luck to him and nice chap but he's really weak player all round  and I find it ever so concerning.
Funnily enough found Taylor bearable and adept as a general left back in the main this season however he struggles so much in this 3-5-2 and offers nothing as an option .

Completely convinced that Suso went to Bruges and spent £30m on two average looking players when Smith wanted Maupay and Phillips.

On that, it would have cost us £70m rather than £30m. Given FFP, it's not bad money.

A stupid moment of madness cost us the win and to be honest, I wasn't expecting to say that. Mings and Nyland were immense. Luiz and Nakamba showed tonight why he's bought in Drinkwater. As good as they might turn out to be be, they're still a bit raw and it showed at times. Overall, delighted with the result.

It was a bit dopey from Luiz for their goal  but Konza has to shoulder some of the blame. He could see the Leicester player behind Luiz and he should either hit it long or shout "man on" when he gave him the ball.

Taylor was not good enough in the championship so it was always going to be concerning playing him in the premiership, particularly against potential world class players.

Perhaps even more concerning for me is that Matt Targett is our first choice alternative. Lightweight.

£70 million? Mapauy was bought for £20 million. We could’ve gottten Phillips for less that £50 million surely.

Nakamba and Luiz both are so slow on the ball. I’d be interested to see the stats how often they gave the ball away. I lost count at the amount of times they were robbed off the ball as they causally fannyed about with there back to the opposition.

That formation and application certainly first half, plus new additions, will make me feel less nervous in the second half of the season.

It was never going to be pretty from us but if it had been we'd probably have got battered. It would have been the perfect away performance if we hadn't taken that ridiculous free kick and if we'd just played it long or down the line. We hadn't been in their half for a while so why not just get that ball forward? Why we passed it short I have no idea.

Mings had his best game for a while. Grealish continues to carry the midfield single-handedly. Nakamba is shit.

We need to learn to retain the ball better and how to break better. Our attacks break down in midfield unless Grealish has got it.

Leicester are still favourites but anything can happen at a packed and rocking VP. The atmosphere will be bouncing.

We do give the ball away too easily and all of our problems stem from this.
I blame Konsa for the goal, it was a stupid pass to Luiz.
Nyland is a very decent goalkeeper, lets hope Danny Drinkdriver improves our midfield.

The main contribution the kid made was to run around a lot, a bit like an irritating fly to Leicester’s defenders, which was probably enough to at least annoy them at that stage in the game.

Don’t think you have to be mystic meg to work out Kodja not sick and it’s highly unlikely he’ll play for Villa again, thanks for the one good season Kodj and goodnight!

Taylor defended well tonight, but cannot cross a ball to save his life. It’s a tricky one with this system as I think Targett has got a really good final ball, just not sure he can huff his way back up the field when the shape reverts to a 5 man defence.

Anyway whatever the result against Man City, two huge games after v Brighton and Watford before the next semi final,  could be season defining few weeks if we get another forward in as well.

Perhaps we could play them both and sacrifice one of the Luiz/Nakamba or AEG/Trez combinations. We'd be adding to the defence and the attack whilst removing 25% of the guaranteed clangers that we will inevitably drop.

Not a bad shout actually, Trez not offering that much at the moment.

In cold light of day this morning, we have just got a very credible draw at what is currently the 2nd best team in the country, a team that won’t the league 3 and a bit years ago, got to the champions league QF 2 and a bit years ago and has a couple of comfortable top ten finishes since. If we’d drawn with Man City away last night we’d all be raving.

Given all that I think it’ll still be backs to the wall on the 28th and we may have to play like the away side again, but we’ve given ourselves a chance.
