"You can only beat what's in front of you"  and we did, with a makeshift team, and pretty comfortably

Everton next please and United in the final

I'd prefer Oxford then Colchester please

Can we have it the other way round? We don't have a great track record against Oxford in League Cup Semi-Finals.

No chance.  I've only just got home from the last nightmare trip to Colchester.  Never again.

Nyland didn’t look much older than the Klopp Kop Kids.

Good performance from him.

For those mentioning "what could Liverpool do?" Remember that they probably took about 25 players with them to the club side. The numbers last night started at above 50. He has already stated that some of those players would be "rewarded" with flying out and joining the squad which to me means that they could have mixed youth and experience and had any of them fly out.

So, yes, he could have done more but decided to be a bit petulant when it was decided just because it was the 'The Mighty Reds YNWA', it didn't mean everything had to be arranged to suit them and so decided the full kids team will play.

Anyway, role on the SF.

Saw this by Paddy Power on Twitter:. 'VAR not used in the League Cup, Liverpool get smashed 5-0, surprise, surprise'.

Absolutely.  They have a big enough squad that he could have mixed and matched a bit and left some of the experienced non-regular players behind.  They made their choice, but it was a quarter final of one of the two major cup competitions in this country, so I can't see why they are so upset about us taking some pleasure in winning the tie.

Any players flying out now can only play in the final game. And they've taken 20 players to Qatar. They've done the right thing for them and it's what i'd have wanted us to do in the same circumstances. Seems bizarre to me that people are complaining we didn't play a stronger Liverpool side that would have increased the chances of us not being in a semi final.

Has anyone seen their team for tonight? They are playing reserves. Arrogant tossers.

It was very unfair on those young lads. Just think of the pressure of playing in the hallowed number 68 shirt knowing what legends have worn it before you.

OMG that’s Emlyn Hughes and Roger  Hunt’s shirts combined.
