and 27/04 Prest gone for 1, Rushworth with 3 for the innings.

Bears opening pair have played the conditions perfectly.

33/6 Rushworth 5fer. That one was the best of the lot, swapped from the outswingers to one that came back late and skittled middle.

33/7

Rushworth with 6 - One of the most spectacular batting collapses you'll ever see. 26/1 - 33/7 in less than 8 overs.

A very frustrating last wicket stand that lasted for more than an hour but Hampshire eventually all out for 97 and the Bears win by an innings and 84 runs.

Rushworth ended with 7-38

I'll go and jinx it now, but it's been a promising start to,the season for the Bears.  The line up has been consistent and solid on paper.

Barnard has slotted in nicely and looks like he will fill the gap that has been there side in red ball cricket since Keith Barker left.  Having Chris Woakes in the side always helps and Rushworth could turn out to be a shrewd signing.

Is it just me or should we have told all of the Australian cricketers to fuck off and not let them play in the county championship before the ashes? Piss poor decision and not helping ourselves at all.

I think if we get to the first test and it’s 20 degrees with that yellow thing in the sky not sure they’ll have gained much in the miserable conditions the ECB want to play red ball cricket in?

If Robinson goes on to get Smith out 4/5 times in the Ashes it’ll be seen as a master stroke to have him playing / netting with him at Sussex :-)

Also they don’t let our best players play much county cricket see Woakes and Moeen over last 3/4 years so the supporters deserve to see the best players whenever they can.

I have gone full circle and really don't think a spell in county cricket is handing Australia some great advantage. Smith averaged about a thousand in the last series in England without ever playing county cricket before that.

I'd rather see big names like that in the county game than not. It's hard to quantify but it can only be a good thing for young Sussex cricketers to have him around for a few weeks and see how the best players work.

Pears 35-6 & the Glamorgan commentators couldn’t understand at the start them putting us in to bat :-) I think it’s a no brainer

Wow, I killed the stream at about 1:30 because I didn't think we'd get play, credit to the ground staff for any overs they get in.
