Is the George Maddy that kept wicket yesterday Darren Maddy’s son?
Yes
Kept very well i thought, must have the adrenalin and nerves going full hammer.
We ended our innings with a 15 & 17 years old batting for us.
I've loved the RL Cup this season watching youngsters from various counties getting opportunities.

It’s good to see the kids getting a go and as Robinson said the other day, those who are in a squad for the Hundred but aren’t playing should be released to play in the RLODC, it’s so much better for their development although it’s not surprising that they prioritise their bank balance.

Thought we might just get over the line but were fucked by that late run-out.

Dismal season just gets worse. Vital that we stay up now. Though, thanks to the usual ECB not giving a shit about the county game, we don't know what we need to stay up or even if there will be two, three or just one division next year.

I don't understand why we didn't put Norwell in before a 16 year old, when we needed boundaries.

Yes i could not understand the logic of putting Norwell who has a hundred to his name behind a 16 year rookie when we needed boundaries . Robinson has made some strange selection  decisions  as the season has gone on I fully expect Somerset to beat us for the third time this season and its certain that Hampshire will beat us as usual We just might beat Gloucester ,but will it be enough ?

Going down.

It's a difficult one to call so far, the pitch is obviously favouring the bowlers but maybe flattens out through the day because the final session yesterday looked much easier. If that holds true today then getting to tea at 100-120 for 3-4 makes sense but would need to see us push on from there. Either way there's plenty of time in the game and the weather looks like it won't be an issue so we can afford to be a bit pragmatic for a while.
